"Hey Sirius," Lily Evans said quietly, as not to be overheard by the stern potions Professor, who was writing notes on the blackboard at the front of the classroom. She leaned even closer, worrying no doubt about her goody goody image. Sirius sighed.

"What is it?" he asked her, a little harshly. The girl had done nothing to him as of late, since she'd started dating his best friend, but he found her a bit troubling when it came to questions on his growing relationship with Remus Lupin, whom Lily had just found out was a werewolf. He figured this was going to be another one of her mother like lectures, and he wasn't too keen to hear what she had to say.

"Sirius," she said sternly. "I know I said things that offended you, in the last couple of weeks. I don't mean anything against Remus or you. You know as well as I do, that he's been my closest friend for longer than I've known the rest of you. I just worry for you... if you're relationship goes - um - deeper."

"Deeper?" Sirius asked a little annoyed. The tall boy shifted his weight, so he was facing away from the girl.

"Yes, deeper. You know what I mean. You've been dating him since the end of fifth year, you should know what I'm talking about. You've never- er - um - you know." She blushed a furious shade of red, that looked odd on her naturally pale skin. She also looked away.

It took a minute to register what Lily meant. Then he turned back around, ready to give the red haired girl a piece of his mind. "No!" he said shocked, but then hushed his voice. "I couldn't even imagine going there with Remus. Not my little Remus. I love him Lily, but we aren't ready for that." Sirius furiously blushed. He was glad that none of the other Marauders had been forced into this class, for extra potions help. James and Remus were too smart, and Peter... well, he wasn't allowed in Potions after all the grievances he'd caused the elderly teacher.

"He's not as innocent as you think he is," she said smirking a little. "I've talked to the poor boy a couple of times, about you even, and listened to him whine about how much he cares for you. He wants to go that far. He really does. It's funny to think, but Remus is a little odd when it comes to sex. He knows just a little more than I expected of such a quiet boy. I just want you to be careful, because you know how it is with werewolves."

"Shh..." Sirius said worrying that some Slytherin students nearby might be listening. "What do you mean, werewolves? Even if we did- it wouldn't be during the full moon that's for sure. That would be kind of sick you know?" The idea of animal mating disturbed him, ever since they'd had a teacher last year, obsessed with showing muggle animal documentaries. Remus had called it scaring them for life.

"Are you an idiot?" she asked, her green eyes flaring. "I know you've read the book Siri- it's only natural for the boyfriend of a werewolf. I think everyone on campus has."

"I haven't. What are you-"

"Mating habits of a Werewolf, by Cynthia Pelotas. Probably the most popular book ever. You, being in love with a werewolf, haven't read it?"

"No, I don't think so."

"It's gross to say it," she said laughing a little, "but the students here get a kick out of the most sickening things. I mean, to want to know how werewolves- you know. It's a gross book really."

"Well," Sirius said, laughing at her. He wanted to humiliate her so badly, for bringing this up. "Then why have you read it, might I ask you?"

"Well, my friend Mari told me about it- and I just bought in Diagon Alley before school started." She suddenly looked down to her potions book embarrassed.

"Then you're just as bad," he said. Bothering Lily was a hobby he'd taken up starting when he'd met her during their third year. She was just so easily annoyed, that he loved it. He knew James had a thing for her, so it only made him bug her even more. Of course, he could hardly think of an insult to playfully use with Lily, because of the fact that he'd never heard that werewolves were any different than full blooded humans, in that area. He wanted to know what Lily had read, but he couldn't ask. He didn't want to admit it to her, that he was incredibly eager to get his boyfriend to go to the final level and now he had to know. He wouldn't allow his desire to know get this best of him, and ask her.

The next weekend just happened to be a Hogsmede weekend. Remus and Sirius had plans to spend the entire duration of the weekend together. The full moon was in a few days, and Remus's usual depression was starting to kick in full force. Days were spent, as always moping around the common room and preparing for the nights ahead. Sirius really wanted to help this time, make him feel better. By then he had somewhat forgotten about his ideas of taking their long term relationship to a sexual level. It no longer made him curious. He just wanted to make his Remus happy, and that was all that really mattered.

Remus lit up considerably, when he saw Sirius standing there waiting for him. Remus was still in his bed, just waking up. He looked at Sirius disoriented by sleep. "Come on," Sirius said eagerly. "I've been waiting forever for you to get up."

Remus was still in his bed, looking sleepy and confused. "Siri?" he asked blinking several times, due to the brightness of the sun shining into the room. He ran a hand across his face. He was a little embarrassed to be caught like this. "Sirius, is it time already?"

Sirius smiled, and sat down on Remus's bed, right next to him. He ran his hand across the other boy's messy hair lovingly, and could literally feel Remus shiver. The shiver reached Sirius, and even passed through him as well. "Yeah, it's time," he said smiling. "Come on hurry now." He was being especially gentle, because he knew why Remus had slept that long. He had long ago heard that right before and after the full moon, a werewolf did fall into a weakness. Remus did seem weak, and tired. "You doing all right Moony?" he asked silently, squinting a little.

"I'm fine," Remus said smiling so hard that it reached his golden eyes. "You know how it goes Siri... it's in two days, so I'm feeling a little dragged out."

"Are you still up to going?"

"A whole day spent with you is worth feeling a little tired," he said sweetly. That was what Sirius adored about his boyfriend. Remus was so old fashioned, and was always the perfect romantic gentleman when it came to love. Most people these days couldn't appreciate simple love. Remus was so wonderful to be the perfect romantic. He was the kind of boy you wanted to date, and didn't care beyond that.

"You have such a charm, even half asleep," Sirius said chuckling a little. Remus reached up to Sirius's taller height, and kissed him gently on the lips. It lasted for awhile, long but not deep. Sirius loved every second of it. Somehow they could have gentle kisses, without much passion, but still amazing in every way. No need to be passionate, when you were in love with Remus Lupin. "Now get dressed Remus."

Remus slowly changed into his clothing. He was no longer the shy boy he'd been up until fifth year. He wasn't at all modest, changing his clothes quickly. "All right, come on, let's go!"

Thirty minutes later, having made it there, and separated from Peter and James, they were alone. "Why don't we go to the emptier part of town," Sirius said quietly. He hated crowds of people. In fact he hated most people. Remus really didn't feel right to blame him, due to those he'd had to live around most of his life. Yet, Sirius's terrible family really didn't matter anymore, now that Sirius was safe inside of his best friend's care. Next year, Sirius would be living with Remus, if the timid werewolf had his plans in check.

"It's nice here," Remus said conversationally. Sirius laughed. He knew that Remus was just trying to make better of things, like Remus could only do. The more abandoned part of Hogsmede was deserted in more ways then people, it was nothingness, and almost to the limits of their boundaries. While being alone satisfied Sirius, Remus hated it. Sirius noticed the tension in the way the boy moved.

"Sure Re, I believe that one."

"You should... I'm not lying."

Suddenly, their eyes met, making Remus flush red. They were really in love, and that much was obvious. It didn't matter what idiotic thing Sirius did, was self hating crime Remus committed, they still would be in love. Sirius grabbed Remus quickly, taking the startled werewolf by his long and outreached hand. "Come on, I know you don't like the privacy like I do. Let's go somewhere to talk for awhile. I promise to you it will be semi populated."

They walked along the streets of the village slowly, taking in every single moment of it. Remus shuddered a little, as they passed the shrieking shack. Sirius tightened the arm, that had been loosely around Remus. "I'm fine Padfoot," Remus said indignantly. "It's not like I'm not used to that thing. Only three more moons though... and I'll never have to see that place again. It will be just you and I, for the rest of forever."

"True," Sirius said smiling. Then his gaze turned somewhere else, inside the window of the tiny little bookshop, he saw James and Lily and laughed. "Look at this, Moony, they had a date today. Want to check it out? Might give me some ammunition against Lily. I need it..."

"You mean spy on them?" Remus asked in a mockingly shocked voice. "Why, Sirius I would have thought better of you..."

"Come on," Sirius said, leading the way with Remus playfully pretending to still be enraged. They entered the shop and stooped down behind a shelf of books.

"Oh come on Lil, it was a joke," James said making a goofy face at her. "You have no sense of humor."

"I'm sorry," she said a little sadly. "Yet when you do things like that- use those gags on little kids, it reminds me of when you used to..."

"Oh," he said softly, pulling his arms around her. "You mean when I used to use jokes to hurt people? But Lily, I don't do that anymore. Now that my grandfather died, I understand what the serious things going on mean. People are dying... and I'm just trying to bring light to this world. I'm joking, but I won't hurt anyone. Even Snape, who- oh so needs to be taught a lesson for trying to break up Remus and Sirius."

Lily's face softened. She had heard about how Snape had tried to steal Remus away from Sirius cruelly, and had mentally hurt Remus a lot, calling him some terrible things. Hiding behind the bookcase, Remus was feeling a deep feeling of anger, thinking of the things Snape had said and done. He'd almost lost Sirius that night, and betrayed himself. Sirius touched him on the back letting him know that it was okay. "Remus, don't even think of it... don't ever let him get you down. You're not worthless, you're mine."

"They are the perfect couple," Lily said smiling. She laughed thinking about it. "Remus hasn't been so happy in years. He hasn't had one of those depression attacks in two years. Yet, don't you worry a bit James?"

"About what?"

"Sirius of course. Haven't you ever thought that they were in love enough to- you know- have sex?"

"I never thought about it," James said cringing a little bit, like it disgusted him. "I don't normally think about that. My friends doing it seems so, unreal. In fact, I don't want to talk about that."

"Yeah, but you know about Remus... right? What could happen if they do?"

"I never really thought about that either," James said. He was beginning to sound stupid. "But do you think that stuff in that mating book is true? I mean this is gentle little Remus we're talking about. He may be a little bolder with all of the exposure to Sirius, but he'd never be so... like that! He's really a gentle, timid, withdrawn kind of guy. He wouldn't do anything wrong, especially not to Sirius."

"I don't know..."

"I...Lily, you didn't tell Sirius about that book?"

The redhead blushed so deeply, that her face nearly matched her hair. "I mentioned it."

"How did he manage?" James said cringing a little thinking about Sirius's reaction to such comments. He wished his girlfriend would motion to shut up once in awhile.

"I didn't tell him about what is said. I just told him about the book itself! I'm sure he's already forgotten... though he did look a little curious."

"Of course he looked curious!" James said snapping. "What do you think, Lil? It's the person he loves you're talking about. If he reads that book- he might feel differently for Remus. Could you imagine breaking them up, over that?"

"James," she said sharply. "I don't want to talk about this."

"I just hope you didn't hurt them..." he said softly, quick to calm her. "Nah, I'm sure you didn't. Sirius would've taken the whole thing as one big joke, even if he did read it. Sirius doesn't fear anything."

Remus and Sirius stayed behind the books, until James and Lily left. "So?" Remus asked softly, giving Sirius a questioning look. His long hair had fallen across his face, crouched low for so long, and he looked very innocent and quite beautiful.

"So what?" Sirius asked pretending not to know what was coming next. He looked away embarrassed that his conversation with Lily had been mentioned.

"Lily told you about some book, a book on werewolves. Tell me about it Siri... cause I think I know what she is talking about."

"It's nothing," Sirius said quickly. He did not want to give Remus any thought of him questioning their relationship. "Just some stupid Lily like thing she said to me."

"Was it about me?" Remus asked in that innocent voice that drove Sirius to anything, including insanity. He looked so cute, that it was sickeningly attractive.

"Maybe," Sirius said quietly. "All right Remus, yes. She was talking about how werewolves mated. I was NOT curious despite what Lily said though. I don't doubt you for a second, Re. She just said a bunch of things about how I couldn't trust you-if we were to- you know, I don't even want to say it."

Remus looked a little shocked. "Sirius!" he said, "You know that book is a whole bunch of lies. Yet, it's okay for you to be curious." Then he blushed, as he realized how terrible his advancement sounded. That had been a stupid idea, Sirius obviously did not want to go there as much as he did.

"I wasn't- okay, I was a little," now Sirius also was blushing. "I wondered if my boyfriend was going to kill me or not, during our first time."

"Does it say we kill?" Remus asked, a little shocked that the lies went even that far. His wide eyes were so very adorable, the way they stared at Sirius intently. "I've heard some girls gossiping over it, and don't remember anything about werewolves killing their mates. That is rather-"

"No, I haven't read it you idiot," he said laughing, a hint of nervousness in his voice. "James's little girlfriend sure acted like it though. She said she wanted to basically protect me from you."

"I don't think I am anything you couldn't handle," Remus said flirtatiously. "We have to get this book, and find out about the lies. Because I think it would be funny... I've never done any of those things."

"Well, we are in a book store. Wait a minute... Remus, you've been with someone?" He stopped, staring inquisitively at the young werewolf. Remus turned a dark shade of purple and walked away.

"Not something I want to talk about," Remus said blushing, his face turning a deep scarlet color. He turned away, towards a row of books at a running pace. "Not something I want to talk about at all."

"Fine," Sirius said though curiosity was getting to him slowly. He wanted to know who Remus was with, but the book was more curious. Black, your going to kill yourself with this curiosity one day, he thought smiling to himself. He'd let Remus have a bit of privacy for once... even if it hurt. Maybe Lily was right.

They found the book, on a display shelf of hundreds of the same book. "What a sick trend..." Remus mumbled, a little bit offended by the cover art, which displayed a transformed werewolf, looking a lovely girl like he was ready to do some terrible things. Remus cringed, and Sirius shook his head, muttering the word "sick."

They picked up a copy, and took it to the man at the counter. He looked oddly at the two boys, as if he wanted to say something, but stopped and gave them their paid for package.

They left the store, and went to sit down outside at a bench. "Ready for this, Padfoot?" Remus said cringing a little as he opened the book to the first page. Chapter one was entitled, "Signs That Your Lover is a Werewolf."

"This should be fun," Remus commented darkly, then began to read off of the first page.

"There are many ways to find out if your lover is a werewolf- that can be told, before it's too late."

"Too late?" Sirius asked amused. "for what, Remus?" In reply Remus shook his head muttering the world ridiculous, under his breath.

"One, the person will have an increased sexual desire as the full moon nears. Argghhhh... what a terrible lie!"

Sirius reached over and gripped hold of Remus's hand. "Big lie, eh?"

"Of course it is," Remus said, in matter of fact voice. "This is sick, Sirius. I do not have anything near the full moon, except for total weakness. This lady should be sued for writing this. One day I am going to be the one to do it. What did she do, make this all up word by word. Excellent fiction work, Miss Pelotas."

"Oh, well Remus ... we knew this was trash," Sirius said laughing a little inside, because he himself had believed it for a moment, until Remus had yelled.

"Two, a werewolf will show signs of it's animal nature, beforehand. A true wolf is seen by a close love."

"Now you've got to sleep with me," Sirius said suggestively. "I've got to prove that one myself before you ruin it for me."

"Sorry, little puppy," Remus said smirking at Sirius's joke. He hit his boyfriend playfully, enjoying this a little more. "That is also quite the lie. I am not an animal, any more than your average seventeen year old."

"Then I still have hope?"

"I am going to hit you," Remus said in a hollow voice, before moving to do so. Sirius laughed and continued reading. "Lastly, the werewolf attracts it's mate, making it seemingly irresistible. Watch out for your own safety, if you feel unquestionably attracted to your lover."

"She's got some facts straight," Remus was grinning with this joke.

"I've got to admit she's right," Sirius joked shaking his head. "You are too hard to resist. You must be a werewolf Remus!"

"Yes, Sirius," Remus said laughing. "I am... now I am going to eat you too."

'This is too much good fun,' Sirius said laughing. He felt a sense of happiness wash over him like a wave, when he realized how content Remus looked. "Okay, the rest is a bunch of annoyances. Lets see how you get... when we roll over to the chapter titled Mating Habits, clearly subtitled Oh No... help me."

"Oh no help me?" Remus asked. "So that's what my first boyfriend was saying!"

He watched the darkness pass over Sirius's eyes, and decided he would never talk about his first to Sirius ever again. "Just kidding Sirius, I'll read it this time. A werewolf will be aggressive, desiring blood to be drawn by nails or teeth. Now I, a vampire and want your blood Siri..."

Sirius smirked, and offered his arm. "Please, feel free to scratch and bite me until you get all the blood you ever could need, vampire."

"You know this is really dumb," Remus said softly.

"Yeah, it is..." Sirius said laughing hysterically at Remus's disgusted face. "What is it?"

"Illustration," Remus said softly. "Kind of skimmed over to the chapter called, The Gay Werewolf."

"Ooh, ooh, let me see!" Sirius said laughing. He seized the book. "Nah... you'd be better then that guy is."

"Want to test that one, Padfoot?" Remus said quietly, in his most delicate, innocent voice. He bowed his head and nodded. "You know, the rest of our dormitory won't be back until about six hours from now. If we were to go back and..."

"Show these dumb drawings how real werewolves do it?" Sirius asked, his eyes slightly alight.

"Yeah," Remus said excitedly. "Before the full moon gets any closer, please."

"Why, you going to drink by blood if I wait a couple more hours?"

Epilogue

Miss Pelotas.

My name is Remus Lupin. I am seventeen years old and I am a werewolf. I have recently read your book, which is surpassingly on the mating habits of werewolves. What a lie that book is! I really cannot believe the disgraceful words inside of your book. It is a work of fiction, labeled as reality. I happen to be very sexually active, and nothing in your book is true. I may be seventeen, weak and young right now, but one of these days you will pay for what you've written. According to my boyfriend, I am the greatest lover ever, and nothing except that. I hope you are happy with shaming perfectly good people, by agonizing them, when they are already forced to hide.

Remus Lupin

"You tell her, Re," Sirius said leaning over, to read the paper Remus was writing.

"I plan to," Remus replied sleepily, as if it was a matter of fact. He laughed softly. "You know, I'm not angry with her. She helped me be more sexually up front with you. I like her..."

"You would Remus, my sex crazed animal of a lover."

"I am going to hit you again," Remus said laughing in his monotone way of joking. Then he collapsed into his love's arms. "But yes Sirius, it was a great experience."
