Tuesday 11/14/00 - Timothy went to Clinic yesterday, Monday, for more Chemo and lab work.  He was also scheduled out patient in the hospital to get a Pentamidine treatment (2 hour IV) to protect against infections.  His lab results revealed that he needed potassium replacement as well (2 hour IV).  Timoth had a difficult day.  Was very nauseous.  I found out today that low potassium can also cause nausea.  So what we thought would be a 2-3 hour appointment, wound up being most of the day.  We had our family pictures scheduled for 3:30 at the beach.  Instead (thanks to a very flexible photographer) we had our pictures done at 4:00 on the hospital grounds.  Timothy was a trooper to sit through poses even as ill as he felt.  I'm happy to say that he has had a really good, albeit sleepy, day today.  Nausea was kept at bay.  Thank you for praying.  Love, Ginny

Thursday 11/16/00 - Timothy's still been feeling nauseated and tired.  He had lab wok done today.  His potassium is low again (any ideas for potassium rich foods besides bananas and tomatoes, which he doesn't like)?  Timothy's Hematocrit is also low.  It is 8.7 - they transfuse at 8. He will have more labs drawn on Saturday.  Please pray that his body would recover on it's own.  Love, Ginny

Saturday 11/18/00 - Timothy will be going to the hospital tomorrow, Sunday.  He will be getting a blood transfusion.  Ginny will update us with more details, soon.  Carol L.

Monday 11/20/00 - Timothy will be receiving a chemo treatment today.  His blood transfusion on Sunday went well.  He was in and out of the hospital in 5 hours.  Carol L.

Tuesday 11-21-00 - Timothy's transfusion went well this past Sunday.  His color is much better and he is feeling better overall.  He made an effort to eat potassium rich foods and his potassium level came up without needing an infusion.  That was great news.  Timothy got his flu shot on Monday, the rest of the family is getting theirs on Wednesday.  Even Trenton seems to understand why it is necessary and Timothy has given him some tips on "how not to be nervous and relax." Timothy gained 2 pounds last week.  Timothy goes in Monday 12/4 for a 2-3 day hospital stay for more intensive Chemo.  Thank you for your continued prayer and notes of encouragement!  Love, Ginny

Friday 11/24/00 - Timothy had lab work done today.  His white blood count is as low as it has ever been (1.8).  Please pray that it would start to recover before he receives more Chemo on Monday.  He is eating well, his mood is good, but he is very tired.  Love, Ginny

Monday 11/27/00 - Today's lab work showed that Timothy's count had come up enough for him to receive the Chemotherapy.  He will be in the hospital today, tomorrow, and maybe Wednesday.  Please pray that his body does well with the drug, that he doesn't get too nauseous, and that his kidneys are protected.  This particular drug is hard on the kidneys.  Thank you.  Love, Ginny

Tuesday - 11/28/00 - Timothy started feeling the yucky affects of the chemo last night.  He hasn't felt like eating at all today.  He will get another dose of the chemo this evening at 5:00.  Tomorrow he will get another blood transfusion as his hemoglobin count is down.  Daily injections start tomorrow for 2 weeks to keep his white count up.  Thank you for praying.  Love, Ginny

Wednesday 11/29/00 - Timothy actually got his blood transfusion after midnight last night so he was ready to go this a.m. and we got home about 10:30.  That was a nice surprise to get home a little earlier.  He continues to feel very nauseous and is not wanting to eat much.  We're pushing the fluids to keep him hydrated.  Timothy will start the GCSF injections to night to get his white count up and stable.  Of course he dreads this but knows it's necessary.  We continue to be so thankful to all of you that care enough to check in an see how Timothy is doing and who continue to pray for him and our family.  I even got an e-mail today from a young lady who was Ed's waitress at a restaurant he was at for lunch yesterday.  She saw his hospital wristband and they began talking.  Turns out she is going to college and wants to work as a therapist for children who are going through cancer.  She sent Timothy a nice note and said she would be praying for him.  God is good.  Love, Ginny

Thursday 11/30/00 - Timothy is feeling much better today.  His color is pretty good and he even has a little energy.  I think the blood transfusion he got on Wednesday helped - and of course I know your prayers do!  He will have lab work done tomorrow.  Timothy is excited to spend the night at his cousin's house tomorrow as long as he is feeling well.  Love, Ginny

Wednesday 12/6/00 - Timothy has had a pretty good week.  He got to spend some time with a friend and his cousin over the weekend.  On Friday his white blood count was very good at 6.9 so he was able to attend his Sunday school class at Church.  He liked seeing his friends.  Timothy had labwork again on Monday, but the count had dropped to 1.9.  This was disappointing for two reasons - he's been taking daily injections to keep the white count up and he had hoped to visit his school on Wednesday during the lunch hour and see some of his friends.  We'll see about that next week when his count is (hopefully) up again.  Timothy's tutor tells us that he is doing well in his courses and keeping up with the rest of his class.  Mrs. Church (Timothy's tutor) even filled in as "hand holder" this week when Timothy had to be accessed for labs (put the needle into the port-a-cath in his chest).  What a blessing she is.  No Chemo next week, just labs twice.  Next Chemo is a hospital stay on 12/18 for 2 days.  Thank you for your continued prayers.  Love, Ginny
