Tuesday 10-17-00 - We can't say it enough..."Thank you for praying!!"  Timothy did so well with the Chemo (one dose Monday, one dose Tuesday) that this afternoon the doctors gave the okay for him to come home tonight!  Starting tomorrow, Timothy will need daily injections, for 2 weeks.  We knew this was coming.  The Chemo Timothy received this past 2 days really attacks the Cancer Cells, which is good, but the White Blood Cells as well, which is bad.  This medication, GSF, will tell his body to make more white blood cells.  We had a wonderful nurse at the hospital who explained all of this to Timothy, and Timothy asked a lot of Questions.  She took the time to explain everything in as much detail as he needed.  The needle is very small and honestly, not painful.  I will be giving the shots to Timothy.  The nurse wanted Timothy to have confidence in me so she had me give HER a shot!  Now that's dedication for you.  Then she gave me a shot so I could tell Timothy first hand wht it was like.  Timothy asked if we gave him extra medication one day, if we could skip the next couple of days, but it doesn't work that way - they need to be daily.  The Home Health Care nurse will come to the house tomorrow to watch me give the shot to Timothy, then we should be okay on our own.  More great news!  Timothy is doing so well with his weight gain, that after tonight (Tuesday), he will be off of the TPN/nighttime nutrician.  He will be off of the IV so he won't have to have his needle in all the time.  Specific prayer request right now would be for protection for Timothy from colds, flu, and germ in general, these next 2 weeks as Timothy's body will be especially vulnerable.  Love, Ginny

Wednesday 10/18/00 - Timothy's been feeling nauseous and "yucky" today.  He got sick a couple of times, but still managed to eat and drink some.  He's been sleeping most of the day.  Today was the first day he had the injection of GCSF.  He didn't feel the needle go in, but unfortunately the medicine stings.  We were hoping this would be pretty painless.  The nurse came to our home to watch me give the injection.  We will switch sites each day so he doesn't become too sore.  Kim from Physical Therapy comes tomorrow and the day should be fun.  Timothy doesn't have to do any exercises IF he will ride his bike.  Or, if it's bad weather, they are going to play twister and use those muscles!  Love, Ginny

Sunday 10/22/00 - Timothy continues to do well.  The nausea from the last chemo treatment comes and goes, but mostly he feels pretty good.  Timothy said last night that the injection was getting a little easier to take.  No Chemo this week.  He'll get the daily injections and lab work done Monday and Thrusday.  Same schedule for next week.  We're grateful that he's felling well.  Love, Ginny

Wednesday 10/25/00 - Timothy is wanting to get out and visit his friends and classmates at school, but we are keeping him pretty much isolated these two weeks as the Chemo does it's work, but also affects his white blood count.  We're mainly keeping him away from big groups of people and especially big groups of children.  For whatever reason, they seem to carry the most colds, coughs and flu.  Timothy will have blood work done again tomorrow - based on that a decision will be made how much longer he will need the daily injections to protect his WBC.  Thank you for praying.  Love, Ginny

Sunday 10/29/00 - Timothy's white blood count was up after labs on Thursday!  We were hoping maybe he could discontinue the daily injuctions now, but as the doctor explained, we need to continue for another week or his WBC could drop immediately.  If the lab work looks good next week, Timothy may be able to visit his classmates at school.  He has written them a letter and they have sent him some beautiful cards.  Timothy would like to meet them and answer any questions they might have.  Timothy will have another hearing test tomorrow.  Please pray that Timothy's hearing continues to be protected from the chemo drugs.  He will be tested every 46 days or so, with each cycle.  Timothy also completed Physical Therapy on Friday.  Unless he has any complications, that part of his treatment is done.  Love, Ginny

Monday 10/30/00 -   Timothy's hearing test was 100% perfect!  Thank you for praying!

Wednesday 11/1/00 - We got good news yesterday, especially to Timothy.  The doctor said to discontinue his injections (2 days early), his white blood count was good.  That was double good news because we felt better about taking him out to Trick or Treat.  Timothy is looking forward to seeing his classmates - maybe this week.  He will go back into the hospital Monday 11/6 for more Chemo.  2 or 3 day stay.  Thank you for your continued prayer and support.  Love, Ginny

Friday 11/10/00 - Timothy had his chemo treatment in the hospital on Monday, the 6th.  He came home from the hospital on Tuesday the 7th.  Today, was not one of Tim's better days.  Carol L.
