She turned the shower off and went to grab a towel when she felt antoher hand upon it. She saw him and yanked the towel into the shower. Wrapping it around her body before stepping out."Do you ever pay attention to what's going on around here?"
"Not really. I leave that to you. Besides, you never came home last night. How do you even know what's going on here?"
"I have ears you know."
"You have no right after spending the night with my best friend to be accusing me of doing anything wrong."
"You don't have any more right than I do when you're bringing somebody home yourself."
"She's my girlfriend and she has been for the past month and a half."
"Where has she been?"
"I usually stay at her place when she's in town."
"What's she do anyway?"
"She's a photographer."
"Should make for an interesting sex life,"she snidely remarked.
"That was uncalled for."
"No it wasn't. I never wanted to feel anything more for you than friendship and you had to go and change all of that."
"As I recall, you were there too."
"Can you honestly stand there and tell me you felt absolutely nothing that night. Cover yourself by the way. You wouldn't want your girlfriend to think there's anything going on."
"Excuse me,"she interrupted at just that moment."Beth has a visitor."
"Don't bother,"he said dropping the wallet sized purse in the doorway and taking the hallway in long strides before she finally caught him at the door."AJ!"
"What?'"the hurt in his eyes covered by the trademark sunglasses.
"It's not what you think?"
"Good. Besides, we don't have any ties anyway Beth my love."
"You bastard. You opened your heart to me last night and then this. Get out!"
Could it be?"Beth."
"Get out."
"Come on Beth."
"Get the hell out of here,"she demanded with tear filled eyes.
"Gladly you tramp,"his male ego took control as he stormed out the door.
She found Howie standing in the entrance of the hallway."Are you happy now?"
