Chapter 14
Their time together seemed to all too suddenly come to an end. She didn't wanna go home but she knew she had bills to pay and a life of her own to live too. Although, Howie was a very big part of her life now. Not as if he'd never been. He was a better part of her life now. She didn't spend endless nights wondering if she was going to be hearing his voice complaining about the latest breakup because she was his reason for living. He had told her that time and again all weekend. She already missed him. She plodded down the metal walkway to find John standing on the opposite end."Where's Liz?"Tamara inquired of her absence. She was supposed to be there to pick her up. "Nice to see you too." "Come here,"she hugged him and pecked him on the cheek."How are you?" "Apparently not as well as you. You're glowing." "That has a lot to do with you." "With me? You did that all on your own. You gave him a real eye opener when you walked out of that club ready to walk out of his life for good." "Did he really think I would walk out on him?" "From that little tyrade of yours, yes but I think he knew you wouldn't." "I had to do something to open his eyes." "That you did. So I take it all is well with you two?" "What do you think?" "I think my little bro' cast a spell on you." "If there's a remedy for love, don't let me know about it cuz I don't wanna be cured."
He sat staring at the endless highway stretching beyond him as the bus rolled down yet another all too familiar stretch. He missed her already. They hadn't been separated what three hours. How was he going to make it through another two weeks without seeing her? He dragged himself from his indentation in the plush seat to his bag setting on the opposite side of the bus. He opened his bag to a welcome surprise. It was a picture of Tamara in that beautiful ensemble she had worn when she greeted him the other evening. Drawing himself back to the present, he noticed the hotel envelope addressed to him. Opening the envelope to the stationary within he noted the faint scent of her perfume lingering upon it. He unfolded the note and read. Now that I've got your attention, I need to tell you a little secret. I love you. I miss you already and I can't wait to lie safe in your arms once again. I hope you're reading this alone because I'd hate to think I'm gettin ya all hot and bothered in the presence of others. Anyway, I thought you might like a little reminder of our first on the road encounter to keep you company on all those lonely nights when I can't be there to press my warm soft lips against yours. The nights when you need me to comfort you and keep you warm when there's no one else around. The nights when you can't be deep within my soul after the all knowing fire of passion has consumed us within it's savage grip. Can you feel me? I know I can feel you. I feel you every time I close my eyes. I feel you when I'm awake. You have become a part of me. I am forever yours. You know you can reach out to me any place, anytime, anywhere.
Forever yours, Tamara He dialed her cell phone number. "Tamara here." "You alone?" "Could be." "Which means you're not." "I am,"she protested. "You're still at the airport aren't you?" "Just got in." "I just wanted to say thank you for your little gift."
"I thought that might help you out a little bit." "You think?" "Another satisfied customer. Was there anything else you needed?" "Just to hear the sound of your voice."
