Chapter 8
The light softly filtered into her room as she woke to the bed void of his presence.  However, there lay a peach rose and a small note.  She opened the small card and read,"Peach~The color of passion=you.
Let my memory be but your guide.
She smiled at the memory of the previous night.  She readied herself before heading down with her notebook and portable CD player.  She took these things to kill the time because she knew the others would never be there on time.  She had slid the rose in the metal rungs of her notebook.  She was drunk with happiness. It had only been one evening but it was one she would never forget the rest of her life.  She gleefully sang along with the song on her CD; unaware of the people departing and joining her on the metal box. As the song ended, she heard the clearing of a throat  across the elevator.  She turned her music off; a slight shade of red creeping upon her features."I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it darlin',"he drawled.
"I don't mean to be rude but aren't you?"she couldn't find the words to finish her sentence.  She felt like a shy little teenage fan.
"Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys?  Yes."
"I'm so embarrassed.  I'm acting like a complete fool here."
"Don't worry about it.  I was just listening to you sing.  You have nothing to be embarrassed about."
"You really think so?"she moved back into shy mode.
"You don't think you do right?"
"It's mostly just a hobby for me.  I guess I should take it as a compliment coming from someone that does it professionally."
"You should.  Another hobby?"He adressed the notebook held tightly against her chest.
"Right now it is."
"I think you need a little confidence booster."
"What do you mean?"
"I can't promise anything but I'd like for the guys to hear you sing and I'd like you to come to the show to show them."
"I don't know  if that's a good idea."  The elevator stopped at the floor she was planning to get off on. "Well this is my stop.  I appreciate your kindness but I don't know. I'm meeting my friends for breakfast."
"Me too. After you,"he offered as she stepped off the elevator first."Knowing the guys, none of them will be here before me."
"That's why I brought my notebook.  I know my friends too well and I just met them online."
"That's great."
He sat at the table with her until Sherl arrived.  He held the paper she'd given him and said to her,"I'll see what I can do and you think about it.  I'd really like them to hear you."
"I will.  It was nice meeting you Brian."
"The pleasure's been all mine Terri,"as he left.
"So what's going on?"Sherl's eyes briefly darted across the room to find Howie approaching the same table as Brian.
"Nothing."
"Nothing my ass.  You charmed the Kentucky cousins."
"I only had one of them.  I met the other one on the way down here."
"I see."
"So how did your evening turn out?"
"Where would you like me to start?"
"That good huh?"
"We had a private party in the VIP lounge there before heading up to his room.  And  you ?"
"Oh, I won the jackpot on one of the slots before I drown him in champagne."
"Speaking of the jackpot,"Sherl noted as Terri turned her head to find Kevin strolling into the restaurant.  She turned back to Sherl.
"You act like you don't even care what happened."
"I don't.  He gave me a wonderful evening.  He's probably gonna go running back to sweet little girlfriend anyway. Why would I want a man like that forever in my life?"
"True."
"What up girls?"Kristy bubbled as she and Shannon approached the table.
"Scoot,"Shannon ordered toward Terri.  Terri followed her prompt."So where were you two last night?"Terri inquired.
"Should we tell them?"Kristy glanced acrossed the table toward Shannon.
"Go for it."
"We spent the evening with one Nick Carter."
"Yeah right,"Sherl remarked.
"Told you they wouldn't believe us."
"Okay. So what did you do last night?"Kristy inquired.
"I did the latin man across the room there,"Sherl noted.
"So did our little miss innocence here spend the evening alone?"she referred to Terri.
"Terri has the Kentucky cousins under her belt so to speak."
"How's that?"
"She had one and one wants to make her  a star as far as I can tell."
"No way,"Shannon remarked in disbelief.
"No way what?"Vanessa questioned as she sat down next to Kristy in their booth.
"Terri here had Kevin last night and she met up with Brian and he wants to make her a star."
"I'll top ya all.  I married a Backstreet Boy last night,"presenting her right hand.
"So why is it on your right hand?"
"We were drunk."
"Okay."
"So back to little miss innocence.  What's the deal with that?"
"I was singing on the way down alongside my walkman and Brian heard me.  He's gonna see if can scrape up five tickets and get us backstage because he wants the guys to hear me sing,"Terri responded.
"But you don't want to because of Kevin right?"
"I had a good time.  I just don't want to be reminded of it with his girlfriend around."
"That's why you're carrying the rose around?"
"Can we talk about something else please.  I wanna hear about Kristy and Shannon's evening."
With that she was able to divert the subject matter away from herself for awhile
