Chapter 15
Later the same evening she and Sherl were watching a movie in Sherl's room when the phone rang."Hello?"Sherl picked up. "Hello,"the male voice on the other end replied. "Howie?" "Guilty." "Were we planning another evening?" "Who said anything about planning?" "You are dangerous." "I believe you liked that about me last night." "No mistake there. So what'd you have in mind? Wait a minute. I can't." "Wouldn't have anything to do with your friend now would it?" "As a matter of fact, yes. You got something against that?" "I got something against your friend. She practically ruined our show tonight." "She ruined your show? Why don't you blame her for world peace too." "I'm sorry. There's just a lot going on around here and I needed to escape. I thought you might too." "Well I could use a little escape but could you give me a few? I wanna see if she'll be okay to leave for awhile." "I understand. You know where to reach me right?" "Yeah. I'll call you back in a few." "Bye,"he hung up the phone. "She's there?"Kevin anxiously inquired. "Yes she's there and don't do anything stupid. You have Kristen to think about here now." "I know. I just need to clear something up with her before I deal with Kristen." "Sure." "That was Howie I assume,"Terri turned from the television. "Yes,"Sherl smiled. "You know you can go. He wasn't the first to break my heart. Just the hardest one to get over."
"You're sure you don't mind?" "Sherl. You have an opportunity to spend another passionate evening with a man I'd even like to take a roll with but you go ahead. My feelings won't be hurt." Sherl dialed his room number."So are you ready to howl at the moon again?" "I'll be down in a few."
