I remember walking into the main room hearing the slot machines tingling with riches but when my eyes fell upon him all sound dissipated. I thought a hundred(more like a million) times of what I would say if ever given the opportunity to meet him. I was being given the opportunity and I was frozen in my tracks."Would you watch where you're going Lynn?"Resa angrily inquired as she stumbled into me.
Marie and Amy's laughter coming from behind them was preempted by the sight I'd already fallen upon.
He caught sight of the group but found his eyes transfixed to the set that were glued to him. Sure he was used to the incessant stares of women but there was something about her. He wasn't sure what but he liked it. In fact,he loved it. She wasn't the typical girl. She was a woman. A woman he wanted to know. He continued signing autographs.
"Oh My God Lynn! Here's your chance. Go now."
"I can't move,"I returned to my friend. Wait a minute! Did he just smile at me? Certainly couldn't be me he was looking at.
"I will kill you if you blow this chance Lynn."
"Yeah Lynn. You've been waiting how long to meet this guy?"Amy added.
"If you don't I will,"Marie chimed in.
"What do I say?"
"He's a human being. Hi usually works for most."
"Funny."
"I will pay for the rest of this trip if you can walk over there alone and do it,"Resa offered.
"And if I don't?"
"I'll make you watch Eyes Wide Shut over and over until you beg for mercy on your hands and knees,"Marie said.
"Now that's just cruel,"I said as I continued watching the man that was watching me as the surrounding fans would allow."Resa. Push me please,"I begged.
"Thanks a lot." I summoned my courage and started toward the few girls that surrounded him. I patiently waited on the edge of the group before we were once again eye to eye.
"Hi,"I managed .
He smiled.
God! did he know that thing lights up the room?
"Hello,"he responded. He didn't want to ask the question but generally he was approached for a reason."Was there something you'd like me to sign?"
Embarrased, I said,"Actually, I don't have a thing on me. To be honest, my friend's challenged me to come over here."
"Why?"
"Let's just say I've never been very forward and one of them promised payment on the remainder of our little jaunt if I could approach you without their assistance."
"What do you think would happen if I left with you?"
"I don't know what I'd do if you left with me."
"Why don't we find out then?"he suggested.
