"Nick,"AJ said over the phone.
"Hey man. What's going on?"
"Start your campaign tonight."
"Excuse me?"
"She left him."
"She left him?"Nick echoed.
"Suitcases and all. Doesn't look like she's going back this time."
"And she's at Sherl's isn't she?"
"Yes. Get back in her good graces tonight and go from there. You need her trust. You only have two weeks remember?"
"Yeah, yeah I know."
"Listen, I'm just about to head out the door so give it about an hour before you head on over there."
"Got it."

Twenty minutes later, the doorbell was ringing and Sherl wasn't quite ready."Can you get that?"she yelled.
"Sure,"she moped to the door. She opened it.
"Melissa. What are you doing here?"AJ said.
"Cut the game AJ. I know you've talked to him. So how's he holding up? Oh and come in too,"she half heartedly greeted.
He entered the apartment and sat down across from where Melissa had plopped down.
"He's in shock."
"How do you think I feel?"
"Look I'm not taking your side or his but if I had to, I'd be choosing yours because I know what an ass he's been throughout it all."
"Did I interrupt something?"Sherl came into the room.
"Nothing at all,"Melissa mumbled.
"You look gorgeous,"AJ greeted Sherl with a kiss.
"Take me home now,"she played.
"I'd take you now but you have company."
"Sorry I'm in the way,"Melissa rushed to the spare bedroom that her daughter had left empty the year before.
"Nice going,"she slapped him on the shoulder and found Melissa crying.
" 'Lis?"
"Go away,"she cried.
"I can still cancel you know."
"No. Go ahead."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. I'm sure."
" 'Lis?"AJ came up behind Sherl.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I'm just a little oversensitive right now. It's not your fault."
"So are we ready to go then?"
Sherl silently inquired of Melissa if was okay.
"Go ahead. It's fine. Have a good time. Don't come home til the rooster crows. I'm a big girl. I'll be okay for one night. I promise."
"Okay,"Sherl said as AJ escorted her out of the room.
"This is so weird Sherl. I didn't think she'd ever do it."
"I was beginning to think the same thing. We'll see how long it lasts."
