| Kristy approached her the same evening as she sat in the chapel alone praying for his life and that the whole AJ mess would resolve itself being it was the cause of this whole incident to begin with. "Kara?"She carefully approached. She pulled her head up and found Kristy there."Hi." "I don't mean to bring up a sore subject but did you tell him?"as she cautiously placed herself next to Kara on the wooden seat . "I told him this morning. If I hadn't, he might not be in there right now hanging on for his life. "Kara. That could have been Nick just as easily. It wasn't your fault." "I love him Kristy. I told him I thought he was different when I left him this morning." " And he is different,"AJ approached. "Just leave us alone,"Kristy said. "I have something to say to Kara." "Anything you say you can say to her. She knows,"Kara offered. "You told her but you wouldn't tell him?" "More like I couldn't tell him because every time I tried to tell him, you called. That was awfully convenient." "Now I'm realizing it might have been a mistake." "That's a joke." "Come on Kara. I made a mistake by not letting my friend make his own choices from my past knowledge of you." "You know AJ, I can forgive what you've put me through, but I'll never forget. The only reason you're still working right now is because I didn't press charges about that little office incident a few months ago." "I know Kara. I am sorry about that. I was just jealous that he was the one that gave you back everything you ever deserved to have in life. I'm not a bad guy. I was just bad to you." He turned and walked away. Puzzled, Kara turned to Kristy again."That was AJ right?" "When you think you're gonna lose someone very dear to you, the confessions start flying. How can you forgive him though?" |

He's got so much to live for. He's got a wonderful family, a career he loves and most of all, he's got you." "You and Polly are on the same wavelength." "She's a good sister. She knows her brother. He fell in love with you the day he met you and he hasn't stopped talking marriage since then." "But I met him briefly at Kevin's wedding over three years ago and he was still seeing Angela." "I know." "Excuse me Kristy but could I borrow Kara for a moment?"Polly interrupted. "Sure thing. I think I'll go round Nick up. Take care of you. It's gonna turn out okay,"she squeezed Kara's shoulder."You'll let us know if anything changes right?" "Sure Kris. See you later,"she returned and turned back to Kara."Can I ask you something Kara?" "Sure." "What'd you say to Howie while you were in the room alone with him?" "Why?" "Well whatever it was, it seemed to work but the minute you left his side, he worsened." "You're telling me that I'm the reason he worsened?" "I'm telling you the reason he improved was because of you. The doctors can't explain it and I don't know what to make of it but you seem to be the reason he wants to survive." |
