His forearm held firmly against her throat cutting her lifeforce off."Nod if you understand." Her minimal nod was insurance enough that she would comply with his request. She choked on the release of her windpipe. "Don't ever forget who's in control here. I'll call you with the details,"he glared as she continued to gasp for breath."Love you Simee baby,"he quipped as he walked out the front door. She slid to the floor; tears flooding her eyes. Dammit! What the hell was she gonna do? She couldn't lie anymore. She couldn't lie because he knew. What else could have brought such violence on? He treated her like dirt that much was true but something unleashed a monster in him and she knew if she didn't agree to his terms, that monster would become all that much stronger. | She was still a huddled mass on the floor when she heard his voice echoing throughout the house. She slid up against the wall; tears still flowing from her eyes as he turned the corner. He assumed the worst as he drew her against his body. What had AJ done now? Who else could have turned her into this quivering mass of emotion? After the initial hysterical sobs subsided, he escorted her to the couch."What the hell did he do to you?"Kevin asked. Her hands incessantly shook. He steadied her hands."What happened Simone?" "I just need you to hold me Kevin. Can I tell you later?" "I want you to tell me now Simone. I know you can." "He knows Kevin." "Excuse me?"he inquired feigning his knowledge of AJ knowing about them. "He knows about us Kevin. I think he knew when I met you." "What he did he do to you Simone? I'll kill him if he hurt you." "Please don't use that word." "What? Kill?" "That one." "Why?" "He threatened to if I didn't do something for him." She couldn't read the expression in Kevin's eye because it was something she'd never seen in him before. He dragged his fingers through his hair."What does he want you to do?" "I don't know but knowing him, it can't be good. I've known him to be violent at times but never once has he threatened death." "We need to tell him soon." "He already knows." "He already knows there's somebody. He doesn't know it's me. I'm not going to let you die Simone because he doesn't know who it is." "And I won't if I do what he wants.
