Chapter 12
He woke to the sun's ray filtering through the open window and the crisp morning breeze slightly reaching the bed. He knew he had to leave this morning. Not because he wanted to but because duty called. He really couldn't sleep anyway knowing what he was going to have to face this morning. How was he gonna stand there and face a man he'd known for years with intimate knowledge of a woman that lit a fire underneath both of them with a mere touch. The difference was he knew he loved her and he knew that Alex didn't. How could he? The evidence was there. It was physically there. He didn't say anything because she needed to be loved without being owned. She was just a prop to Alex. A toy to play with when his physical need settled in. God forbid he treat like a human being Why she let him treat her like that he couldn't understand. Search your soul and you shall find the answers within to quote the entity that haunted his dreams nearly every night and now posessed the woman he loved. His constant question was How? How do I save her? He already knew the why he should but how can you save someone that doesn't appear to want to be saved? Maybe she did want out. Perhaps she couldn't find her way out. He had to find out though. He played with the golden curls sporadically draped around her face and upon her neck. She stirred with his subtle strokes."Good morning,"she softly uttered. "It is now,"he returned catching sight of her big blue eyes. He continued playing with her hair."I like that." "What else do you like?" "I like the way you pushed me to let go last night." "Let go of what?" "All those years of inhibitions." "Years? Certainly I'm not responsible for She nodded."I was always afraid to let go. I always thought it was so unnatural. I hide behind my pages. Those women can talk like that. I can't." "We can remedy that but not this morning." She pouted."Let me guess. You have to work right?" "Unfortunately yes. I could stay wrapped up in you all day long but I think they'd get suspicious after awhile." "I could call in sick for you,"she raised her brows. "Tempting but somehow we'd get into more trouble for that." She knew exactly what he was talking about."Okay,"she said reluctantly. " I do need a shower though." "See that door on the far end of the room?" "Yes." "That's where you'll find it." "You're not joining me?"he inquired expectantly. "I don't wanna make you late." "Point taken,"he removed himself and made his way across the room.
After letting him out, she leaned against the door in her robe twirling her curls completely lost in the feel of his body still. She could still feel his presence and he was gone. And it was a wonderful feeling to boot. "Somebody have a nice evening?"Kelly quipped. "Excuse me?" Simone broke out of her vegetative state. "He did a number on you." "That's not a bad thing Kel." "It's not a bad thing when you don't have another man in your life." "A man that treats me like dirt mind you." "Then why do you stay with him?" "Because I haven't figured out a way to leave him without him going ballistic on me." "Well if you want the man that rushed back to your side at two in the morning then I suggest you find a way to get rid of him." "I know." "Now that I'm done lecturing, I heard you last night." "Kelly!" "That's not a bad thing. Remind me to thank him the next time he comes over,"she teased. "Hey!"she protested. "Hey yourself. That's normal. He broke you free of that girl I've know since high school." "That's not true." "Simone. You've only dreamed of having a man this good in your life. Don't lose him because of that idiot AJ."
