"Hachoo!"Julie sneezed as the bridesmaids doted attention on Sonya the next morning. Sonya turned at the sound."Are you okay Jules?" "Yeah I'm fine. Must be allergies with the weather and all. You know how that stirs 'em up." "Okay honey. You know you look beautiful today." "Not at beautiful as you. I still can't believe my wedding's another eight months off." "You know AJ's just a little slower about things." Don't I know it she thought to herself. "I know." Meanwhile on the other side of the church, Howie had a series of attacks and no one was the wiser except maybe AJ who'd seen both of them this morning already."You okay D?"AJ inquired straightening himself in the mirror. "I don't man. This weather does some funky stuff to people doesn't it?" "I guess so. I saw Julie this morning and she's apparently got allergies of some sort acting up on her. Of all days for it to happen too." "Really?"Howie sounded surprised to his friend's revelation knowing full well for the reason behind her illness. Did AJ know what happened? Had he known about what had happened between hisself and Julie? If he did, he certainly wasn't saying or doing anything about it. "Are you ready?" "As I'm ever gonna be." "Okay. I'll let them know." There was a knock on the door. One of the bridesmaid rushed to address it."Hello,"she said opening the door. "It's time Sonya." "Thank you AJ,"she nervously replied. He moved over to her noticing the fear gripping her."Sonya,"he kneeled down and took her hand."You are a lucky woman. You will never find another man so willing to give his entire life to you. You are truly blessed. He's gonna love you until the end of time dear. You'll be fine,"he reassured. "Thank you,"her hands steadier than they had been before.
"Age,"Julie grabbed his attention before he left the room."Thank you,"she lightly pressed her lips to his. "What was that for?" "You always know just what to say and when. I'm the luckiest girl alive,"she smiled hoping somehow he wouldn't notice she was hiding the fact she and Howie had once again found each other. "I have to go,"he withdrew from her attention. She was unsure of his retreat as she looked to Sonya before her Father appeared in the door. The others had already left the room."This is it,"she squeezed Julie's hand. "You deserve it," she replied; hiding from her best friend the entire lie she was walking into that very afternoon as she walked down the aisle. "I'm ready Daddy,"she grasped her bouquet and wrapped her arm around her Father's. "You certainly are princess,"he called her by her childhood nickname as Julie proceeded before them. She followed the other girls in as the doors opened and made way for Sonya and her Father. Julie cautiously watched Howie as he adoringly watched Sonya enter the chapel. She couldn't stand the thought of not being able to ever touch him again and she knew she couldn't because as of today, he belonged to somebody else; a somebody whom would never forgive her if she knew. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception turned out to be quite an event. She couldn't dance with him. Everbody would know. Everybody would know what? she thought as AJ shoved her toward him."I guess it's my turn to dance with the groom,"she steadied herself in his grip. They held themselves separate from one another; praying the other wouldn't come too close. "I would guess it is then."
"Sonya is one lucky lady to have you. You know that don't you?" "I know,"he said pulling her a bit closer to whisper in her ear."What about last night?" "What about last night? It's over. That was the end." "I beg to differ." "What do you think they're whispering about?"Nick approached AJ who had left the situation unnoticed for the time being. "Probably nothing,"he turned to find them almost plastered together."He's a married man now." "A married man your girl had the hots for long before she started dating you." "It's nothing Nick. Now scamper along and find somebody else to bother,"he dismissed his remark knowing it was true. She had a thing for Howie long before she started seeing him. Could The Boy Wonder be right? He shuddered at even the slightest possibillity his best friend could even do something so inconceivable as sleep with his girl. "Then do it alone because you're married now,"Julie stated. "I don't care,"Howie's eyes met her head on. "You make me sick." "You love it." "No I don't." "Don't argue with me here." "Then don't give me anything to fight about here." "Fair enough. Just remember to save me a dance on your wedding day,"he released her and went to find his Bride knowing that two could play the game and he had just won.
