Two Can Play The Game
Part A
What am I doing? I thought as I sat patiently at the red light casting it's reflection onto the puddles of water forming in the creviced pavement from the evening's storm. The radio hummed out an old Motown song or something like that. Just my Imagination I think. How appropriate. This really can't be happening. That happened nearly a year ago and now he's calling you the day before his wedding for what? Because he needs somebody to talk to? To calm him down perhaps? Why couldn't he bother any number of friends he had. The horn blaring it's anger from behind drew me out of my thoughts as I continued my journey towards the appointed destination. I'm sorry. Let me rewind here a little. Howie met this wonderful girl shortly after our little tryst. Actually she was one of my dearest friends in the world. I had introduced them at a party after feeling the guilt of having used him for what I thought was revenge. Silly me, how was I to know that AJ had a wedding proposal all mapped out for me that particular evening. Anyway, back to Howie and my friend Sonya. It really was and still is the sweetest thing to watch. You could get a sweet tooth the way they fall all over each other. Me, jealous? A little maybe but I have AJ now and that is all that matters. Then you ask, why am I sitting in a car at one in the morning on my way to see the one man that helped turned our friendship into something that never should have happened? Even I'm having trouble with that particular reason. If I knew, I wouldn't be here. I approached the small but quiet park and saw his brother's car parked there in the small paved area. My car slowly slid in beside his and he approached. The rain continued steadily moistening the ground but not enough to get them completely drenched. He held an umbrella built for two as I rolled the window down."Why is it I'm out here at one in the morning?"I aggressed. "Just get out and we'll talk." "Not until you tell me why we're here." "Because nobody else would drag their asses out of bed to talk to me at this hour." "Smart people,"she started her engine. I started to roll the window back up when I found that puppy dog look he could get anything with illuminated by the yellow glow of the street lamp lighting my view, I knew I was in trouble."Oh all right,"I grumbled as I switched the engine off and stumbled out of the car onto the wet pavement. I shoved my car keys into my khaki shorts pocket as he escorted me to the small set of swings on the playground silently; the lightning being the only light next to the distant glimmer of the street lamp casting it's glow slightly toward us. He held the umbrella as he started to speak."You know why I called you out here tonight Jules?" "Why?"
"You remember that one little moment we had about a year ago before AJ proposed to you?" "Yeah. So?" "Why did you do it?" "Why are you asking me this now?" "Because I need to know. I need to know that for maybe one flat second you actually felt something that night." "You're marrying my dearest friend tomorrow and you want me to admit to feeling something that I might have felt for you over a year ago?" "It doesn't matter when it happened because I know I felt something but I need to know that it wasn't just a one sided affair." "And what if I tell you I didn't?" "Then that's all I need to know." "And you won't bother me anymore about it?" "Not if I actually believed you were telling the truth." "Oh please. You think I actually,"his mouth silenced my protest; the umbrella a distant memory as his arms surrounded me. I pressed him away."I've gotta go." He stood firmly where he was as I tried moving my feet from the cement like grip they suddenly had on me. I knew I should leave but the lightning flashing across the sky illuminating the desire simmering in his eyes, I knew I had to leave before he won this round."What's wrong Jules? I thought you were leaving,"He smugly returned. "I am,"I bolted for the vehicles as he followed hot on my heels. Before I could even open the door, he shoved it back trapping me between the car and himself."Tell me something Jules. Why aren't you with AJ tonight?" "Because we both needed to get some sleep." "Seems you two have been doing a lot of that lately." "Only because I've been helping Sonya with some of the wedding arrangements."
"That's no excuse. Don't you love him anymore?" "I...I..I,"I stammered as his hot breath upon my neck in the now steady rainfall sent shivers throughout my body. "You were going to say?"he taunted. I felt myself melting as his hand slid down the rain moistened softness on the exposed flesh of my unrestrained arm."I can't hear you." I attempted to free myself of his grip but it was useless as he tightened it."Ah, ah,ah,"he scolded."We're not finished." We'd been in the rain so long that our clothing had merely become a second skin. The thunder crashed with a gloriuos boom and his grip loosened upon my arm; briefly startling him from the storm's sudden outburst. Without losing any contact, he turned my body to face his. I knew exactly where this was going and I still wanted no part of it but there I was in the midst of a warm summer rainfall face to face and still trapped with a man that needed me for nothing more than possibly one last fling before he walked down the aisle. His lips forcefully pressed against mine and as I much as I resisted, I slowly caved into his advance forgetting about the man I supposedly loved and the best friend of mine he was marrying in the morning. Maybe I was allowing myself that one last pleasure of his body and he withdrew it almost as suddenly as he'd offered it. Frustrated and annoyed after being woke up from a deep sleep, I made an effort to obtain entrance to my car only to be trapped once again. The scent of his body and the rain mingling intoxicated my senses . I turned within my confines; maintaing my hunger for his body and demanded,"What the hell do you want from me?" "I want you,"he grasped my hand placing it over the straining arousal being held within the confines of his jeans shorts. I tore my hand away from him. "How dare you presume I still want you,"I defied. His eyes moved over the light pink cotton of my soaked T-shirt at the small nubs defined underneath. "Jules hon. You can't hide it,"he slid his hand over my body and between the material of my khaki shorts. He slid a finger along the outer length of my softness. His thumb manuevered over the rocky little pebble swelled beyond the point of aching and hungering for more of his tortuous ministrations. My body rocked with the carress of his finger entertaining the prospect of entering me. As he continued, he rasped,"I could continue but what good would it do? You don't want me anyway, do you?" I only nodded; so lost in the feel of his hand continuing to whip me into a frenzy. "Do you?"his voice dictated an immediate response.
