Dear Mrs. Howell,
No doubt you think me very ungrateful for not writing and expressing my appreciation for the information you gave me, away back in 1934-35. I was confined to my bed at that time. So I could not answer. But at this late date I do want to thank you. The Sarah Vail Howell Terry, born on the 29 of June 1818, is my Grandmother, and a grand lady she was too. She lived to be 99 years and one month. And had at the time of her death 556 descendants.
At this time I have not been able to complete my Fathers line as I would like. My Father was only 11 or 12 years old when his Father (Edmond W Howell) died. (I think you had it Edward) on the Platt River on the way west. It seems that Grandmother did not know to much about GrandFathers family or at least she does not leave much to work on.
Please find enclosed pedigree and also a list of names found in her record. and their relationships to my Father. I wonder if you would know anything about any one of them. And could a History of the Howells by Richard Bailis be obtained (the one you mentioned in your letter)
Thank you so much for your past favor and any thing you be able to give at this time.
