| "Palestine": A Contradiction In Itself | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Let's face the facts people; there was never a state of "Palestine." Why then, are so many people killing each other over what is essentially a very crappy piece of real estate? This question has been asked countless times before, yet no definitive answer has ever been given. That will soon change because today, my fellow constituents, I will present to you the truth to this conflict, and ultimately tell you why the "Palestinians" have done nothing to deserve any land in Israel. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| First, let's go back in time, to the late 19th century, when Jews historically began entering what was known at the time to be "Palestine." These Jews were not entering the region forcefully; in fact, it was quite the opposite. At the time, the Arabs there were considered to be mainly apolitical and disorganized; most thought that there would not be a problem with some new and different people settling there. At first, the economy boomed and the land flourished, due primarily to the enthusiastic Jewish immigrants and their businesses, which actually led to more Arab migrants coming to the land looking for a better life. It seems that this peace was short lived. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Arab factions began forming with the intent to root out the Jewish settlements, but why? Was their land not enjoying relative wealth and prosperity? Why not cultivate this peace and live in harmony? | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Fast forward to 1948, the year that the state of Israel was actually declared, much to the chagrin of many Arabs, most notably, the "Palestinians." For years, separate battles were fought against Israel, usually containing the same projected end result: the destruction of the state of Israel. Some of these battles were fought formally with organized militaries, but those days are now over, with much of the current battles consisting of suicide bombers blowing themselves up in crowded places. Why is this? Why do these people resort to this type of combat? Many reasons could be gathered from looking at the facts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| First, let us take into account the leader of "Palestine," Yasser Arafat, who was once the head of al Fatah, one of the largest terrorist organizations to date. Since 1968, Arafat has remained the head of the "Palestinian Liberation Organization," which is a contradiction in itself. What, exactly, are they trying to liberate themselves from? When the PLO was founded in May 1964, the main goal was (and still is) to destroy Israel. According to Webster's New World Dictionary, the word "liberate" means "to release from slavery, enemy occupation, etc." In Arafat's dictionary, however, "liberate" means "to kill every Israeli and destroy the state of Israel itself." The "Palestinians" never had any slavery to be released from, just as there was never any enemy to root out! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| I guess Arafat must have learned from the PLO's even more ridiculous and hypocritical former leader, Ahmed Shukairy, who developed the slogan of the organization containing the line about "driving the Jews into the sea." This pathetic individual, in an act of total hypocrisy, even said to the UN Security Council "It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but Southern Syria," a quote that negates the entire "plight" of the PLO! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Finally, let me present to you the icing on the proverbial cake, the reason the PLO is continuing this asinine fight. They continue to claim that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip have been "illegally occupied" by the Israeli government and its army. Here is a little known fact, however, that once and for all destroys any credibility the PLO had left: Article 24 of the PLO charter blatantly states that "This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, [or] on the Gaza Strip..." How can they say with a straight face that these are historical regions of "Palestine" when this charter said the contrary, a charter the PLO itself created in 1964? | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| I hope that this article has presented to you why the "Palestinian" movement is ridiculous in nature and extremely unfounded. Furthermore, before any of you try to say that I am putting a spin on the truth, take this into account: much of the facts, dates, and quotes mentioned in this article were obtained from a source that is considered by many to be official on this subject: http://www.palestinefacts.org. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
