Moore And Bin Laden - What A Team!
I think most people have come to accept Michael Moore as a rambling, ranting and raving piece of slime, but every once in a while he says something that is just so repugnant, it deserves to be brought to the attention of the general public. Moore, who is a liar in every sense of the word, has gained the majority of his fame over the years from his movies, which contain nothing but skewed and manipulated conjectures on certain "hot button" issues. While his movies are entertaining and well-done, the content within them is far from legit, and I think most people realize that. Moore also has a Web site where he spews even more of his drivel, and he recently said something that would make even the most vehement supporter of his wince.
In a Nov. 1 column entitled "One Day Left," Moore professed, among other things, why he believed John Kerry would win the next day's election, and he also proceeded to take several cheap shots at President George W. Bush. In the "To George W." section of the column, Moore proudly (and sickeningly) opines, "There he was, [Osama Bin Laden], all tan and rested and on videotape (hey, did you get the feeling that he had a bootleg of my movie? Are there DVD players in those caves in Afghanistan?)." There you have it, folks, Michael Moore finally crossed the line.
BeldarBlog, a popular Internet "web log," commented on Moore's Bin Laden snicker soon after it was posted on Moore's Web site: "Instead of expressing shame or remorse that his bogus talking points have found their way into a pathological maniac's videotaped taunt of and threats to America - instead of emphatically disassociating himself from Osama bin Laden's use of his material - Michael Moore boasts and jokes of it." Ain't that the truth, people?
Does it repulse any of you who are huge fans of Michael Moore that he would be so blas and complacent about Bin Laden viewing his movie? Does it bother you at all? It sure as hell should. This man, who has made millions upon millions of dollars on his biased and fictitious celluloid symphonies of blatant untruths, gloats about the number one terrorist in the world kicking back and watching "Fahrenheit 9/11." Sickening, isn't it?
While I abhor Michael Moore with a passion, I will fight for his right to say whatever he wants, no matter how big of an ass he sounds saying it. I will also say, though, that this is the kind of scum that many young people look to for their political views, since he is viewed as being hip and "in-touch" with that segment of society. I can only hope that one day those same people will get a clue and realize that their idol is nothing but a fat and bloated, anti-American liar who will say whatever it takes to rope more of the unsuspecting in to his cause, even if it goes as far as bragging that the most wanted man on the planet - and the biggest enemy of America - saw his movie. But, then again, water does seek its own level.
