Here's a near-classic view of Meriken Park on the Port of Kobe waterfront.
(See more about Kobe Tower, the Maritime Museum by clicking here.) The roundish-looking building is the Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. I got off the Portliner monorail at the station nearest the Port Terminal, and I took this photo from the platform. (Just off camera to the right is the Okura Hotel where Mizue-san took us for coffee, cake, and a view of the city from the 35th floor.) |

From a couple floors above our room one could see the automobile bridge and the monorail line from the mainland to our Port Island. That white building on the far left is the Okura Hotel. |

These two photos are of the area around Sannomiya Station where we passed through every time we went anywhere. It's the terminus of the monorail line from Port Island, and the JR line connects to Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, wherever you are going. |
