Sylph
These elemental spirits of air are also known as astral fairies, since they ride on the back of the wind. Sylphs are extremely tall female fairies, around 8-10 feet high and uncommonly slender and slim. They are also extremely beautiful fairies, who have many pulsating ribbons of coloured light emanating from them, which are part of their wing structure. Sylphs are also partly transparent, which enhances the enchanting otherwordliness of their appearence. A sylph is a great fairy to have around you for metaphysical purposes-if you are at all interested in matters of mind, body and spirit, a sylph is the best teacher to help you in your work. It is not easy to catch a sylph, but if you succeed in attracting one to you, she will protect you from all harm and, with her pulsating lights, will help your wishes to enter the ethereal stream.
TO CATCH A SYLPH

In order to attract their attention, you should practice "whistling up the wind" to get sylphs to notice you. Whistling gently in tune calls the wind and the fairies to you by sympathetic magick. Certain types of insense, such as jasmine, sandlewood, and patchouli, also attract sylphs. Like sirens and harpies, you can make one wish out loud to the sylphs. However, unlike the bird-women who live near the sea, sylphs can be whistled to anywhere. Catching a sylph taked practice and there is no way you can keep her for good. Be content with calling her whenever you need her advice or spiritual strength.
