Purpose

 

The Coalition of Higher Education for Immigrant Students (CHEIS) is a … whose mission is to promote higher education among immigrant students in Houston and in Texas.

We do this by passing out information that details the requirements to qualify under House Bill 1403 (now called Senate Bill 1528), the types of aid available, and the options open to students during and after college.

Currently, we are working on increasing awareness of the DREAM Act and how individual students can help influence its approval.
