House Solaris
We are a household in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). An "Anachronism" is something that is out of its proper time frame: "Creative Anachronism" takes the best qualities of the Middle Ages and "Selectively" recreates them in the modern world. The SCA time "period" covers anything pre-seventeenth century: our household tries to stay around 1450.
The SCA has events held all over the world where they recreate a medieval market day: Merchants, Tournaments, Court events, and basic medieval society. Anyone who has been to a medieval or renaissance fair has probably been to a SCA event.
Our House is a nomadic household and our members hail from around the eastern European Middle Ages. In modern life most of our members hail from the Lynnwood Washington area, but if you were to ask us while at an event "where are you from?" the answer you recieved would vary from "Scotland" to "Greece" to "Germany". That's part of the fun of the SCA; you get to be someone else for the weekend.
