Renowned professor of vampirology Dr. Ambrosius and his bungling assistant Alfred (director Polanski) are busy searching for vampires in a small village in Transylvania. There, local vampire Count Von Krolock is hard at work trying to get the lovely Sarah (Sharon Tate) into his clutches. Ambrosius and Alfred must hurry to save Sarah, but they ran against time.
The scene of the Ball in Count Von Krolock�s is unforgettable for those who have seen the movie. The costumes design are shown in all his splendour in this scene. A huge room full of vampires and only 2 humans and Sarah in her way to becoming a vampire... or not. Simply delicious!

Added significance since this is Sharon Tate�s last movie. Just a few months after the film was completed, she was brutally murdered by Charles Manson and his followers in one of the most infamous crimes of this century. Other than the pacing, there�s plenty to recommend this one.
