1. THE SCRIPTURES: The scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God (ll Tim 3:15-17) presenting to us the complete revelation of his will for the salvation of mankind, and constituting the Divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice (ll Pet 1:19-21; Rom 15:4; Heb 4:12) We are to live our lives by applying the scriptures daily. 2. THE GODHEAD: Our God is a trinity in unity, manifested in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. God is infinitely perfect, being one in his three persons, co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal. (ll Cor 13:14) God the Father is greater than all (John 14:28); the source of the word (Logos), and the begetter (Jn 16:28; 1:14) The Son was begotten of the Father, excepting eartly limitations, true God and man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust as the substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believeth him are justified on the grounds of his shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Father as our Great High Priest, he will return again to establish his eternal kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy. (Rom 14:17; Mt 1:20-23; Jn 19:16-27; Heb 3:1;1:3) The Holy Spirit (Ghost) is a divine person, executive of the godhead on the earth, the comforter sent by the Lord Jesus Christ to indwell, to guide and to teach the believer; and to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgement. (Jn 14:16,17;16:7-15) 3. MAN, HIS FALL AND REGENERATION: Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. (Rom 5:12) "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." (Rom 3:23) "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." (Rom 3:10) Jesus Christ, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave his life and shed his blood to redeem and restore man back to God. (1 John 3:10) Salvation is the gift of God to man, seperate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Eph 2:8-9) 4. SALVATION: We believe in the plan of salvation that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, purchasing eternal life for all who believe in him. (John 3:16) We believe that you must confess with your mouth, and believe in your heart on the Lord Jesus Christ, and that salvation must be maintained through a relationship, friendship with God. (Rom 10:9-13; 13:11-15; Titus 2:1; Luke 24:47; ll Cor 7:10; Eph 1:7; 2:8; l Jn 1:9) We believe the believer is given a measure of the Holy Spirit (Ghost) at the time of being born again, for he is sealed with the Holy Spirit, which is the earnest of his inheritance. (Eph 1:13-14; ll Cor 1:22; Eph 4:30) 5. CHURCH: The true church is the Body of Jesus Christ (Col 1:18). He being the Head (Eph 4:15). It's earthly constituents are all born again by the Holy Ghost (Jn 3:6) and by the word ( l Pet 1:23) To it is delegated the various gifts and offices of the Holy Spirit (l Cor 12:7-11, 27, 28) necessary for the successful fulfillment of Christ great commission to the church, as given to the disciples in Matt 28:19 and Mk 16:15-20. 6. MINISTRY: God, through the Holy Spirit, defintely calls such as he desires to serve as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, and specifically endues those called with the talents and gifts peculiar to that office or offices (Eph 4:11-13). Under no circumstances should anyone be ordained or set apart to any such office unless the calling is distinct or evident. 7. WATER BAPTISM: We believe in water baptism, that immersion in water is the outward sign of the inward work of Jesus Christ. We believe in being baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Matt 28:19; Rom 6:4; Col 2:12; Acts 8:36-39) We believe this is a direct commandment of our lord. 8. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Spirit), that he endues the believer with power. That he is a gift from God. (Acts 1:8; 2:4, 38,39; 10:44-48; Matt 3:11) Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a seperate work from salvation. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and that they are in full operation still today. We believe that the Holy Spirit bestows these gifts on the believer. (l Cor 12:1-11; Eph 4:11-12) We believe that the believer should show fruit as evidence of the Spirit filled life. (Gal 5:22-25; Jn 14:16-17)
9. SANCTIFICATION: The bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord (Heb 12:14). we believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consumation of our eternal Salvation. (Heb 13:12; ll thess 2:13; l Pet 1:2; Eph 5:26; l Cor 6:11; Jn 17:17; l Thess 5:23) 10. LORD'S SUPPER (COMMUNION): The Ordinance of the Lord's Supper is a commandment of our Savior; and being a memorial to his death and resurrection is strictly limited to christian believers (l Cor 1:27) We feel frequency of observance should be no less then twice a year, and is at the descretion of the congregation, board and pastor(s). Only unfermented grape juice, the fruit of the vine, as recommended by our Lord (Matt 26:29; Mk 14:22-26; Luke 22:18) shall be used in connection therewith. 11. FOOTWASHING: Foot washing is recognized among believers as a christian practice, and the time, manner and frequency of it's observance is left to the discretion of the local congregation. (John 13:4-16; l Tim 5:10) It is an act of humility, servanthood. 12. DIVINE HEALING Healing is for, but not limited to the physical ills of the body and is wrought by the power of God, through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. (Mk 16:18; James 5:14-15) It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is available to all who truly believe. Healing is also for emotional, spiritual, relationships, etc. Through Christ stripes and his blood we can be made whole, complete in him. (Isaiah 53:4; lPet 2:24) 13. SECOND COMING OF CHRIST: Jesus, himself taught us that prediction of the exact time of his return is fruitless, saying, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is." (Mk 13:32-33) The bible has promised that "...this same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw him go into heaven (Acts1:11) The purpose of this second coming of Christ in like manner is two-fold: (1) the resurrection of the righteous dead, and (2) the "catching away" of the church (l Thess 4:13-17; l Cor 15:51-58) We believe this promise is the blessed hope of the church and agree with the apostle that we should "Comfort one another with these words." (l Thess 4:18) We further believe that the church's emphasis should be considered to being prepared for Christ's return and not waging internal warfare about the timing of the return. 14. HELL AND RETRIBUTION: Those who die in their sins without Christ are hopelessly and earnestly lost in the lake of fire, and therefore have no further opportunity of hearing the gospel or for repentance (Heb 9:27). The lake of fire is literal (Rev 19:20). The terms "eternal" and "everlasting" used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned (Matt 25:41-46) in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence, as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy for the saints in the presence of God. 15. TITHES: We regonize the scriptural duty of all our people, as well as ministers and House of Victory, to pay tithes as unto the Lord (Heb 7:8) Tithes should be used for the support of the ministry and for the propagation of the gospel and work of the Lord in general. (Mal 3:7-11; heb 7:2; l Cor 9:7-11; 16:2)
