‘The House of the Red Dragon’

An Independent  History Re-creation Organization

Yahoo post site:  Dragonborn

More Information

The Household is not an official organization.  As such it operates on the premise that those who attend are friends and acquaintances of Elder Dracos and his Lady Kiragyn.  Meetings, feasts and activities are held on their personal property.  Family and friends have a standing open invitation.

No fear for new members, however since Dracos and Kiragyn love to meet new people who have similar interests.  Contact them and introduce yourself.  Most likely you’ll find that you fit right in.  They do, however, reserve the right to reject anyone.

. . .

The House has a set of guidelines it tries to adhere to in order to keep things fun and safe.  Those are available for any who wish to check them out.  However, the top two are:

     1.  Have fun

     2.  Help others to have fun.

The rest include safety, honor, chivalry, learning, etc.

We just want to make sure any involved have fun and never take away from the fun of others.

. . .

The House of the Red Dragon is open to the period ranging from the dawn of man to 1876 (chocolate).  They want to encourage any and all studies of history.

. . .

Appropriate garb (clothing) is requested.  If you are new, no problem, we have loaner outfits.  We also have many talented individuals who can get you started on garb of your own.  We just want something that looks the part.  You do not have to spend tons of time and money on authentic fabrics, etc.

. . .

Meetings generally centered around a huge period feast.  A number of members put their own money into these so monetary donations are humbly requested.  Also, we ask that individuals bring their own feast gear.  Again, we will have some for new folk.  Your own feast gear will usually include a bowl, plate, cup and a few utensils that match the period of history you are from (i.e. no plastic).  You can get as carried away as table cloths bear your colors, candles, drinks, etc.

. . .

Some of our activities include: singing, musical instrument playing, dancing, sword fighting, archery, bead work, sewing, knife and axe throwing, spear throwing, theatre, tatting, leather work, wood work, metal work, and the list goes on.
