H. P. Lovecraft (b. 1890 - d. 1937) was an American writer of horror and science fiction stories. Most of his work was produced in the 1920s and 30s.
His most famous work formed the backbone of the "Cthulhu Mythos", which he developed into a shared fictional universe with his friends and correspondents Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard, and Robert Bloch, among others.
