Alberta Gray and Anna Lou Shewmaker, daughters of Albert J. Hourigan, Sr.

Thank you Beanie and Anna Lou for the picture and for all of your help!
*The minister is the famous H. I. Hester of NC. He was pastor at Beech Fork Baptist between 1920-1923.  He preached my grandfather's, Fred B. Hourigan, funeral in June, 1923.  Rev Hester married Carolyne Geer (died Oct. 14, 1976) on Nov. 1,1921 after graduating in June from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.  They planned to be missionaries to Brazil but were hindered due to ill health.  He left Beech Fork to teach at Furman University 1924-1926; was the Head of the Department of Religion at William Jewel College MO 1926-1961; and Vice President of Midwestern Seminary, Kansas City 1961-1974.  He is the author of the classic text, "The Heart of the New Testament" and the endowed lectureship on preaching @ Golden Gate Seminary CA was named in his honor from 1968 on.
Feel free to share this in any way you wish.
Respectfully your distant cousin,
Gerald Patrick (Hourigan) Adamson
