Gravel Switch man killed in accident
A 27 year old Gravel Switch man was killed in a highway accident in Fayette County, West Virginia Thursday night.  Britt Johnson Hourigan, son of Johnny and Shirley Tate Hourigan of Gravel Switch, died after the tractor-trailer he was driving crashed on US Route 19 near Oak Hill.  He was traveling north at 11:30 pm when the accident occurred, said deputies of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.  "Preliminary indication are that the vehicle drifted off the pavement and struck a guardrail," Fayette County Sheriff Larry Dotson was quoted as saying in The Register-Herald newspaper of Beckley, West Virginia.  The truck then traveled a short distance, went over the guardrail and down an enbankment before stopping on its top, Dotson said.  Hourigan was driving for Ryder Trucking Co.  He was a Marion County native and a member of the Class of 1988 at Marion County High School.  He was a member of Gravel Switch Baptist Church.  The funeral was Monday, Sept. 8 at 2 pm in North Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Boyle County.  Bro. Mike Wright officated.  Burial was in Haysville Cemetery.
