| According to her death certificate she was born on September 17, 1824 in Kentucky. Her parents were Josh Jones, born in Kentucky and Nancy Saunders, who was born in Virginia. At the time of her death she was 95 years, 4 months and 14 days old and a widow. Contrary to her tombstone, she died on January 31, 1920* from "infirmitites due to senility and from affects of injured hip." She had been treated from May 1918 until the time of her death at 11 o'clock pm on January 31, 1920. The funeral home was Bosley and Smith of Lebanon, Kentucky. She was buried at Haysville Church Cemetery on February 1, 1920. The informant for the death certificate information came from Katie A. Robertson of Princeton, Kentukcy. LEBANON ENTERPRISE 2/6/1920 Friday, Page 1--- AGED WOMAN DIES---Mrs. Sarah E. Robertson, widow of Henry Robertson and a well known woman of the eastern part of the county, died Saturday night of infirmities incident to age. She was 95 years old and one of the counnty's oldest residents. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Jeffries were held at Haysville Church and burial was in the church cemetery. Six children, two daughters and four sons, survive. |
