The Trip |
On March 25, 2004 a crew set out for Camp 1 on Ten-Mile Lake abord a 1957 Bombardier Snowmobile owned and maintained by Mr. Howard Dredge of Black Duck Cove. |
Before travelling too far we encountered another Snowmobile coming out of the woods with a load of lumber. A sign that these workhorses of Northern Newfoundland still pull their own weight. |

There are few sights like those of a vintage Snowmobile sitting on the ice, waiting to go on to the next destination. |

Travelling by snowmobile is a adventure in itself. Driving takes a careful hand and eye. |
Even I, Rev'd John, the passenger, took a nervous hand at the helm. |
Our Captian, Howard, did most of the driving. |
First Mate, Kevin, took the controls for a while.. |

On our way out we encountered yet another Snowmobile hard at work. Seeing these two machines side-by-side was like going back in time. |
