Clay Christmas Ornaments
2 cups flour        1 cup salt         1 cup water

Mix flour and salt in bowl.  Stir in water gradually.  Knead for 7 to 10 minutes.  Add food coloring as desired.  Roll out 1/4 inch thick; cut into desired shapes.  Insert hook for hanging; place on baking sheet. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Halloween Makeup
1 cup flour        1/4 cup salt        1/3 cup water

Combine flour, salt, and water in bowl; mix with wooden spoon until smooth.  Test consistency by pressing between fingers.  Add a small amount of flour if too mushy or several drops of water if too dry.  Store in plastic bag in refrigerator.  Warm to room temperature before using.  Shape as desired, paint with water-based paints and allow to air-dry.  Spray with clear acrylic to seal and preserve.
Finger Paint
3 cups dry laundry starch 
1 1/2 cups soap flakes
1 1/2 cups talcum powder
4 cups boiling water
Powdered paint

Combine starch, soap flakes and talcom powder in large bowl.  Add boiling water gradually, stirring until smooth.  Add powdered paint to make desired colors.  Store in airtight containers.
Kool-Aid Play Dough
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup salt
3 tablespoons oil
1 envelope unsweetened drink mix
1 cup boiling water

Combine all ingredients in small bowl.  Knead until mixture forms soft dough.
Cooked Play Dough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tbls cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 tbls vegatable oil
Food coloring

Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar in saucepan.  Combine water, oil and food coloring in small bowl.  Stir into flour mixture gradually.  Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until very thick, stirring constantly.  Knead until smooth.  Cool and store in airtight container.  This clay is safe!  The kids won't get sick even if they eat it. (In small amounts.)

Cornstarch Play Dough
2 cups baking soda
1 cup cornstarch
1 1/4 cups cold water
Food coloring

Combine baking soda, cornstarch, cold water and desired food coloring in saucepan.  Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.  Invert onto plate; cover with damp cloth.  Let stand until cool  Knead on surface dusted with cornstarch until smooth and pliable.  Store in airtight container.
