Fordyce Trail Guide and Pics
So far it's just the pics...... the text for the guide will be coming at a later date after I've been through the entire trail. so far I've only been as far as the fourth water crossing. (the Cisco Grove exit)
This is the first water crossing, just about covers the 33's.
The guys I were with refered to this as Driveline Hill, If memory serves correct it's before the first water crossing.
Winch Hill #1..... . At the time I was still open diff on both axles. It can be done but expect to work at it for  a while. I'm guessing airing down the treads a little more would have helped. Those of you locked front and rear should walk this no problem.
"Papa Smurf" from the Rock Zombies walked the hill no problem. This is the view looking north-west as you come over winch hill 1.
If you're looking to do the Fordyce trail I recommend at least a rear locker and a solid axle up front. At the time that I did it I was open front and rear and did ok. I managed  up and over winch hill 1 under my own power, but it took a while. I also know of other guys doing it with IFS and a locker. Come Prepared!! we saw more than a few guys stuck out there with no spare parts. It's a long walk back to HWY 80. The trail is easily as hard as the Rubicon in most sections and I've heard most say that winch hill five is the "sluice Box" of the Fordyce trail. On weekends expect to see plenty of rigs trying different lines over winch hill 5
