Setlists for Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna and related projects
This page has the complete setlists for my collection. I will be adding sound ratings and performance reviews as time permits. Sound and performance ratings are subjective, so keep that in mind, as well as the fact that they are bootlegs and rarely perfect. Whenever possible, I have provided source info, such as label or broadcast. If you have any questions, suggestions, or reason to believe I have incorrect information, please e-mail me.

Jefferson Airplane
Signe Anderson-era "Live 1966", plus Grace-era TV performances LP & CD>cdr (1cdr)
***I don't have particulars for all these performances, but am told that the LP "Live 1966" is from October of 1966. Sign Anderson is singing, and it sounds as if Skip Spence is on drums and Jack Casady on bass. There are vinyl crackles, but the sound is pretty good and there is so little out there from the pre-Grace era that this turned out to be one of the best trades I made. I have no idea where the TV performances come from, but both the performances and sound quality are excellent.***
(Live 1966)The Other Side Of This Life, Run Around, It's No Secret, Go To Her, Running Round This World, Don't Slip Away, Come Up The years, Bringing Me Down, High Flying Bird, Fat Angel, Chauffeur Blues (TV Performances)Volunteers, Emergency, We Can Be Together, Eskimo Blue Day, Plastic Fantastic Lover, Young Girl Sunday Blues8/4/67 & 8/5/67 O'Keefe Center, Toronto, Canada SBD>DAT>CDR (2cdrs)
***"Bill Graham Presents the San Francisco Scene in Toronto" (with the Grateful Dead, Luke and the Apostles) Bill Graham's Master SBD Reel > DAT > CDR. Incomplete shows with fade ins on the beginning of each date, but well worth having.***

***From the "After Bathing at Baxters" sessions, this rehearsal tape is of excellent sound quality, and like most studio reels, has false starts, multiple versions and partial takes. I have no particulars for the TV performances, but the sound quality and performances are excellent.***
(Studio rehearsal tape 45 min.) It's Alright, Saturday Afternoon/Won't You Try with long jam, Martha-several versions with stops and starts, (TV Performances) The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil, This Is My Life, Get Together, High Flying Bird12/6/69 "Altamont" partial set AUD. SQ=B (NO Name-No Number-1 shortcdr>
***This is only a partial set, with mediocre sound and odd track changes that don't effect the music. The JA set won't fill a whole cdr, but will make great filler or can be burned as the bootleg I got, containing songs of the other opening acts, although the sound on some of these is rough. The JA sound is not great, but considering the historical significance, I'd say it's worth having. Considering the circumstances, I'd say they put on a decent show.***
The Other Side of This Life, G.Slick talks to the crowd and P.Kantner fights with a Hell's Angel, 3/5 Mile in 10 Seconds, Greasy Heart, Whit Rabbit, Come Back Baby (very low vocals, cut), Blues From an Airplane1969 & 1970 Up Against The Wall" TMOQ 71011 LP>CS>cdr (1 cdr)
***June 1969 Family Dog & Early 1970 Wally Heider Studio Sources: The PBS specials "Go Ride The Music" and "A Night At The Family Dog". "The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil" and "Eskimo Blue Day" come from the Family Dog show, videotaped in June 1969, with Spencer Dryden on drums and ended with a jam between JA, Santana and the Grateful Dead (not included). All other tracks recorded live at Wally Heider's studio, SF in 1970 with new drummer Joey Covington.***

*** Paul Kantner and Grace Slick performing in a beautifully restored theatre in SF. Opening acts were Billy Bragg and Michelle Shocked. We wandered backstage after the show and wandered into a small lounge/dressing room where Paul and Grace were relaxing. They hung out and talked with about 5 or 6 people until we didn't want to overstay our welcome and politely excused ourselves. Very memorable night! This was given to me as filler for the 3/29/96 Club Congress set, but I will also trade it as a 1 disc show upon request***
