Jessica was named Playboys Babe of the Summer for 2004. She is also on two bikini teams, and working on getting more modeling gigs and her name out there. Since she is only 5�7�, the runaway will not be seeing her anytime soon. Jessica may be blonde, but she isn�t dumb. Before taking a break to pursue a modeling career she was a pre-med student.
We had the chance to catch up with Jessica while she was home for the holidays.
Here is her interview.
I'm a 21 year old model/actress from Ohio. I was in college studying in pre med, then I decided to put that on hold to go for my dream to become a model/ actress. I knew I could always go back to college, but I couldn't always model. I have to say my first big dream beside becoming a pediatrician was to be Miss America. I did pageants from the time I was 10. I did do Teen USA but only came in 6th, so, I figured modeling was more suited for me especially with my body type. I'm a pretty down to earth person and I don't take myself to seriously. I love to have fun and enjoy life. I don't want to be one of these people that gets old and wishes they had tried things and it's to late for them.
How did you get your start in modeling?
While I was doing pageants I did some modeling. Then 3 years ago I met a photographer online that shot for Ujena swimwear and he wanted to shoot me. He then started his own swimwear company called EGO swimwear (www.egoswimwear.com) and I shot for the catalog. I then put myself on One Model Place and things started going crazy for me.
What is your goal with your career?
I would love to shoot for Victoria's Secret. I love modeling, but I am working on my acting career right now too. I hope to be living in LA by May and get some acting jobs. If things don't work out for me, I can always say I tried. Then I'm back in college to get my degree. You never know, if you don't see me on the big screen, you may be calling me DR Jones.
What are you doing to achieve this goal?
I'm taking acting lessons and I have been really lucky with all the contacts I have in the LA and NY area to help me. The move will be the biggest thing and the scariest. I've already done one reading while in LA for a movie and he wanted to cast me, but since I didn't live in LA, he couldn't. It had a lot to do with SAG and expenses.
Many aspiring models think to make it they have to pose nude, have you ever or would you pose nude?
No, I've never shot nude and I think it can hurt you much more than help you. Playboy has tried to get me to come to LA and shoot but I haven't. I know, people say but look at Pam Anderson. There have been a few that have made it after shooting nude, but most the time that doesn't happen. A casting director told me never shoot nude, don't have overly sexy images in your book and not to even add my FHM shoot to my resume because producers and other casting director might think you will sleep with them for a part, or you'll shot nude all the time.
Your from Ohio, did you leave Ohio to start your modeling or did you start there?
I started here in Ohio. It's not the hot spot of the modeling industry.
You were named Playboys Babes of Summer, how did that come about? Did you have to do anything?
I was hired for the job then went to Louisville, KY to shoot a video (in a bikini). Then for 15 weeks online they would feature one model and you could watch this video of each girl dance and talk, it was really neat. I walked onto your computer screen from the right side and it looked live. Then after Labor Day the fans voted for the Babe of summer and I was lucky enough to win it.
You are the bikini teams for EGO Swimwear and Horn Dog. What is a bikini team and how did you get on the team?
Horn Dogs never got off the ground really. It is a line of clothes that is used on MTV and for colleges aged kids. I shot for their calendar and the same girls from the calendar were on their bikini team, but nothing ever came of it. Now, EGO's bikini team will be going to events and signing autographs and doing pictures for fans. We plan on doing some charity work too. I got on that team being picked by the owner. I'm also EGO Swimwear�s first cover model.
Have you ever done runway? Is it something your interested in?
No, I've never have. Not a lot of runway work in Ohio. I really am to short. They want you to be at least 5'9, but I would love to do it.
What has your favorite photo shoot been that you have done for a magazine?
I would have to say for FHM. I had never been to NY before, so that was a great trip. They picked me up at Hotel and we went to the Hamptons to shoot. I had such a fun time. They were really good to all the girls shooting that day.
Is modeling paying your bills currently? If not do you have another job?
No, I wish it were. I do some promotional work and I also work in a nightclub tending bar or serving when I have to. Traveling like I do, I have to have a job that lets me come and go, so they have been great. Something new I am involved with, is a charity called Rama Road Rally and I am one of 6 main Rally girls. I'll be traveling all over the country with them. They will among other things, have Rally girls bikini contest that I might be judging. I'll be getting a salary for this, so that will be GREAT!!! This will give me a lot of exposure with lots of travel. (www.ramaroadrally.net)
How do you stay so fit?
Oh boy. This is embarrassing. I eat like a pig. When I don't eat I lose weight. I was a competitive cheerleader, dancer and a gymnast for 10 years. I worked out in one of those fields each day of my life, so I was in great shape. Now I work out once in a while. I really mean to work out more, but I don't.
Where do you hope to be in five years?
I'm hoping to be a working actress in LA. I would love to still do some modeling. You never know, I might even be married by then. I always said I wouldn't get married or have children till I was 25.

I'm a great dancer. I started lessons when I was 7. I also took singing lessons, but I can't say I'm that great. I also won a burping contest in junior high if that counts.
