Most recently Amy performed at First Night Newport on New Years Eve. Reviews of the performance were great. Amy is looking for more places to perform and get her voice and music heard.
We were lucky enough to get squeezed into Amy schedule to do an interview. Here it is:
It is a mixture of pop and rock! I think it is different from what is out there right now.
Is there a certain message you are trying to get across in your music?
I try to write my songs so that people can relate to them and connect with them on a personal level. All of my songs give a positive message and all speak a different message.
What�s your favorite song that you sing?
My favorite song to perform is my song "Just Let Me Be." It has a really cool beat and a cool message in it. It's my favorite song to perform and it definitely has a lot of energy to it :)
Do you have one song that means the most to you?
Probably "Just Let Me Be." It's my anthem hehe
What makes you different from the other singers out there?
I write all of my own music and I involve a lot of dancing and extra performance in every
concert I do.
Do you have any pre-stage rituals?
I drink a ton of water hehe. I usually go over the choreography with my dancers too.
If you weren�t singing what would you be doing?
If I wasn't singing, I'd be dancing or choreographing. I couldn't break away from the arts all together. It's my passion.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Hopefully big things. Right now I am finishing up my fourth song on my debut album which you can now order off www.amyfam.com and I just finished my Xmas Album before the holidays. Hopefully, When I get to headline my own tour you will be sure to see some pretty cool things.
What is your major career goal?
To be able to share and connect with people through my music.
What are you doing to achieve this goal?
Recording, writing, practicing, doing all the shows I can possibly do, and promoting like crazy.
Do you write your own songs?
Yup :)
If so where do you get your ideas for songs?
Usually I just try to place myself in a situation and write about what I would feel like if that happened in my life. "Just Let Me Be" and "Sometimes" are the only songs as of yet that I wrote about personal occurrences in my life.
What is one thing you would like to accomplish in 2005?
Get signed, finish my album, and be able to tour and tour overseas.
Have you done anything in your career that you regret?
Not at all. Everything that has happened has led to another opportunity :)
You are performing on New Years Eve at Jane Pickens Theatre, how did this whole concert come about?
I was asked to perform by the director of the show. It's going to be a really cool show so I'm very excited :)
You performed at the Harley Davidson Dealership in Everrett, MA what songs did you sing? Was there a crowd your age?
It was an older crowd, but they liked the show a lot. I sang with my brother's band, Trigger Finger. We sang a lot of old rock cover songs and my original song "Time to Move On" which is a rock song and not yet recorded.
Girl Power USA sponsored your Holiday Stroll performance. How did you end up working with Girl Power?
I was referred to the event and I started talking to the owners of Girl Power and they asked me to come down and perform. It's a really cool organization :) Make sure to check out the link to their site at www.amyfam.com
What advice would you give to other singers?
Follow your heart and never stop working hard and you will be able to achieve anything you want to achieve.
