You may recognize Alisa from All That, American Family, The Proud Family, Passions and so many more. Alisa took a moment out of her full and hectic schedule to do an interview with us. Here it is:
First off Hi and thanks a bunch for asking to do an interview. When I was about 3 yrs. old I knew that I wanted to be on TV. I wanted that so bad that I tried sticking my head in the actually TV. My mom was like NOW HONEY THAT�S NOT THE WAY YOU GET THERE. Lol... That story always makes me laugh. But on a serious note with the support of my mom and family I started to actually work as an actress at 8 years of age. The first modeling gig I went out on I booked and then I went on to TV and film. Then musical theatre!
You have done a lot of acting. What was/is your favorite show that you have done? Why?
My first big show was ALL THAT on Nickelodeon. That was a true blast! Mainly because it was the start of my career. Plus I worked with such a great cast and met famous celebrities and musical artist at such a young age, what young teen wouldn't love that experience!
Which show had the most memorable cast?
I would say All That and American Family and The Proud Family. Gosh I have so many fav's I couldn't just name one. All That because that�s my baby. American Family which is on PBS because I work with some of the greatest Latin actors in the business and The Proud Family on the Disney channel because that cartoon is a riot to do and the cast always makes me LAUGH!!!!!
Your resume says you were in the Babysitters Club? It use to be the number one teens book, could you give us more info about your role.
Man that was awhile ago I would say when I was about a teenager. I played a friend of the girls that were the Babysitters! That was soooo much fun we shot that in NYC and I use to love those books to and I had pretty much the whole set. They use to be the bomb!!!
What is your main goal right now? Music, modeling, or acting
I love doing all three. Acting is a huge part of my life and music is to. I can't say just one because anything in the entertaining world is my life. I call myself a triple threat cause I can do all three and I love it.
What are you doing to achieve that goal?
I am currently producing a film and I just shot 2 movies one called Freezer Burn and the other Sisters with Angelique Bates and Katrina Johnson whom were on All That with me.
You coming out with an album, could you give us more info on the type of music style, release date, etc.
I am in the studio still recording. See when you are an actress spreading your time around timing can be rough. It can be frustrating because you want to give 100% in all that you do. That�s why I haven't dropped my CD just yet. I don't like rushing things especially my album which means a lot to me and I want it to be just right for you all. My sound is a pop-dance fill. With some rock in it!! I use to be signed to Hollywood Records when I was in a girls group called 3 G's but now I am switching labels and I can't release any info just yet. So, please be on the look out ........
Are you writing or co-writing any of the songs on your album?
Oh yes I have written some songs and I also have some writers as well that work with me. Being motivated and getting inspired is a big thing for an artist. So, surrounding yourself with positive things is a must. The world is my muse!!!!
What makes you from the other singers out already?
Well I like to think that everyone is different in their own way but this business likes to say that everyone is like someone. I am very upbeat and I am a girl from NY which means I have my pop-urban feel but I seem to be very full of life, lots of energy is what I like to show and I love showing a very positive way of having a good time.
When do you expect to have some samples of your music online?
That�s a great question a lot of my fans always ask that. I think this year I plan to sample my music on my site. It�s about that time I think and I am sorry for the wait.... www.alisa-reyes.com
Are you currently working on any acting gigs right now or have anything lines up?
Like I mentioned I just shot two films and my next film is called FORBIDDEN! It�s about the music industry and I play a girl in a famous girls group. So I get to do the two things I love, ACTING and SINGING!!! I love performing in general. Plus The Proud Family has a movie coming out on the Disney channel so be on the look out later this year for that too.
You seem like such a busy girl. Do you ever get any free time? What do you do in your free time?
Free Time Love that!!! Lol.. Well I love to travel back to NY, that�s my home town and I love spa things like getting my nails done. Plus I love to go out dancing....
Your featured in the book �Precious� how did that opportunity com about?
I was at the Sundance Film festival last year and I was asked to pose for the book. The book is so HOT you all should peep it out plus some of the money for it goes to charity. You can't beat that!!!
What was it like to drive a race boat? How did that come about?
Wow I love racing boats!!! I started off as a spokes-person for a company called Super Boat International. I was then offered to test drive a 29 footer boat. Once I did that I feel in love with the sport and then started a racing team where I was the driver!!!! Girl Power Baby.......
What is the greatest experience you have had this far in your career?
Man that�s a question because my whole life has been an experience of its own. I guess you can say just meeting all the people I've met and getting the chance to work with such great actors and producers, directors, etc.
Have you done anything in your career that you regret?
Na, everything I do is a learning experience. I don't like to regret I just learn from it and then let it go.....
