Baby Sheldon
Well, after what seemed to be the longest pregnancy ever, Valentine's day brought the greatest gift of all.  Sheldon John Milligan was born at 5:20 on February 14th.  (Some of you may remember me saying that he was going to born on that day!).

The labour itself started due to my preeclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnant women) and the doctors thought it would be safest to induce me right away.  So at 9:30 at night on the 13th they started the inducement.  Took a long time for my body to go into labour by itself.  This time, I opted for the epidorel.

When he was born there were some complications with both he and I.  He had to go into the NICU for 6 hours to have some tests run due to his breathing.  (see the top picture with his oxygen mask on, poor guy.)  I lost a lot of blood and lost touch with reality for a few hours.  There were doctors and nurses everywhere and it was a little scary for a bit.  But, in the end, we both seem to be healthy (they are still waiting for results on some of Sheldon's bloodwork and urine tests but my doctor told me not to worry he thinks the hospital was being over-cautious.)

He was a big guy!  He was 9 pounds, 2 ounces and 22 inches long.  Imagine I went the other week or two!  He would have been a 10 pounder!

We were released on Thursday and are happily at home now.
