Status Quo - XS All Areas Tour 2005, Glasgow Clyde Auditorium, Scotland, 20/2/05, With Tokyo Dragons and Mike Peters. ------------------------------------ After cancelling due to poor health in December, Status Quo finally managed to finish their UK tour in February, and they sure made it up to the people who made it along. Upon entering the Auditorium's performance hall, up and coming stadium rockers Tokyo Dragons can be seen delivering a crisp, clear rock sound as they blare out their hits including 'Get 'Em Off!' and latest single 'What The Hell?'. Soon after follows Mike Peters of The Alarm, writing some of his own material and some Alarm songs, armed with just an acoustic guitar and mouth organ. Next up are the legendary Quo themselves, and as they launch into opening song 'Caroline', there is not one person left sitting as the lights burst on and frontman Francis Rossi casually instructs everyone to sing along during the chorus. However, everyone is already singing along to the whole song. And so the Quo rally through their greatest hits, including 'Something 'Bout You Baby I Like', 'Whatever You Want', 'Down Down' and the definite highlight, 'Rockin' All Over The World'. Their music is crystal clear throughout, and even includes an extended musical piece and drum solo. So, Status Quo have proven they still have the rock 'n' roll spirit, old as they may be. They'll no doubt be back next year, and if you missed them now, start saving up for a ticket!
