It once again sees Sonic trying to stop Robotnik from taking over the world.God, that's original. Sonic and his pals, Knuckles the Echidna,Miles Tails Prower and newcomer,Cream the Rabbit, must travel across a ton of courses,2 stages in each then a chase with Robotnik. Each has their own special skill,Sonic has the bounce attack and kicking skills,Tails has his flying and tail whip,Knuckles has more fancy punches and Cream has her Chao which she throws at stuff and can also fly.
Cream is a spoiled 6 year old brat, who's mother has been kidnapped by Robotnik. Sonic rescued her from Leaf Forest and she and her Chao,Cheese (Cream and Cheese,get it?) now follow on the adventure. Amy Rose is somewhere in this game as a secret character.
Once again, the special stages are back.Find 5 little golden snitch type rings in the levels and you can play a bonus stage for an emerald.Getting all seven lets you play as Super Sonic again in the final fight.
