It's June 11th. Just another weekend like every hour. Nothing to do but sit around chilling out and studying, when I receive a phone call - I'm going to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

So on the 13th, I find myself in the grounds of Murrayfield Rugby Stadium. The
atmosphere was like nothing I've felt before, every funk rocker there had a look
of extreme anticipation and excitement on their faces. After mandatorily getting a
tour shirt, I headed inside to see something incredible - The stadium, packed with
50,000 Chilis fans, shouting, singing, jumping and Mexican-waving in anticipation
of seeing the Red Hot foursome (just to mention, I didn't bother going in to see
supporting acts N*E*R*D, because they suck).

The stage crew teased the crowd by flicking on huge Chili Peppers logos everywhere
and the noise of the crowd was inconceivable, not just when the band appeared, but
only as bassist Flea strolled past backstage, giving us a look at how the band
were dressed up tonight - barely.

So eventually the funk rockin' four crashed onto the stage, opening with popular
track 'Can't Stop' followed by 'Around The World' and 'By The Way'. By this time,
the ground had probably been lowered an inch by people jumping non-stop, screaming
their heads off. With plenty of awesome tracks being played (everything I'd've hoped
for) and some nice little extras included, such as Flea playing the trumpet, a phone call to the now departed Johnny Ramone (R.I.P.) and an update on the current football game by John, it was hard not to be going crazy.

As I said before, every track you'd've wished for would no doubt have been played -
'Scar Tissue', 'Universally Speaking', 'Parallel Universe', 'Otherside' and 'Under The Bridge' as the sun went down over the city...magic. They were all well-played, and sounded incredible live.

But all good things come to an end and after closing the show with 'Give It Away',
the Chilis ran off leaving a very pleased crowd of what must have been a sold-out 50,000.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a terrific live band, and I strongly recommend you
