Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen ----------------------------- Think back to 1998. As a kid, remember how you went crazy over Pokemon Red and Blue when they first hit the market? Pokemon must have been one of the biggest crazes ever. It was actually more than a craze and popular cartoon - Pokemon changed lives. Pokemon brought kids of all backgrounds and cultures together into a bond and the dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. I know, sounds pretty corny now, but back then you wouldn't have been saying that. And so, if you missed those times, or you MISS those times, you're in much luck. Because Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed are remakes of the classic Game Boy adventures, taken, polished, stuffed with new features and into a GBA cartridge. As you no doubt remember, the game follows the story of yourself (also known as Ash) from Pallet Town, who dreams of becoming the world's best Pokemon trainer. One day, your friendly neighbourhood mad professor gives you your very own Pokemon! And so, you set off on your quest to overcome the eight Gym Leaders and catch all 150 Pokemon. But in the new versions, there are many more than 150 of them, including some never before seen characters like Deoxys. You'll also be able to nab your favorite critters from the Gold and Silver versions. The graphics are outstanding, probably even better than the Ruby and Sapphire editions. Sharp visuals, bright, vibrant colors and awesome-looking Pokemon graphics bring the world of Kanto to life. You'll find yourself humming the Route 2 tune on the bus in the morning. Aside from the above, Pokemon games have always known to be incredible RPGs, and the latest installments are no exception. You'll be playing these for months, no doubt years before you uncover every secret, every mini-game, every monster, every trainer, every hidden item and explore every area of the game. The adventure never gets boring either - you're always on the move for your next adventure, whether it be infiltrating Team Rocket's Hidden Base, crossing the wide, dangerous ocean, hacking your way through thick woods or making it through a difficult cave - you'll be addicted to it. I bet all you old fans of the Red and Blue versions are feeling a bit misty eyed. Check out these new games - you will thank me later. Where have we been without these original adventures, eh? Now, I'm donning my red cap, packing my backpack and heading into the forest to catch 'em all - again!
