Everyone, thought that he was just an emperor without any feelings except to just take care of the country's needs...but they didn't knew... Ever since when he was born, Hotohori had been living in a life of loneliness. His companions are only his teachers, and his parents didn't bother about him much, since they were busy themselves too. But once he heard this saying from one of his teachers "Legend has it that when Konan is in times of trouble, a maiden would come from another world and acquire the divine powers of Suzaku, in which she would protect and bless Konan with..." Or to put in it simply, he love himself. ^^;;; But we can't blame him ne?! Those long black , silky hair, the amber eyes and that charming smile! *swoons* Who wouldn't go crazy looking at him?! He himself is no exception of course. Just like the first time when he showed his narcisisstic nature..."I'm so beautiful that it's scary..." was what he said when he looked at himself in the mirror. Another one was that do you know that many actually thought that he was a woman?! Yeah...related to his beauty of course! Peope who got fooled included Miaka, who thought that he was a woman the first time she saw him. For more funny parts, please read book 4! okay...this maybe a little disappointing, but Hotohori is already married, not at first, but in part 2 of the show and book 12 of the manga. The lucky lady, is none other than You Houki, a lady that resembles alot like Nuriko. Well, as usual, many thought that she was Nuriko too! Miaka got quite a shock when she felt SOMETHING that Nuriko won't have in his life...Hotohori also have a son, call Boushin. Boushin appear in manga book 15 and in the Fushigi Yuugi OVA part 2.
