The "HOT FIRIES" are a self funding non-profit group of professional firefighters who give up their spare time to support and help raise money for Charities and Communities throughout North Queensland.
To date, we have helped raise in excess of $255,000 for Charities such as Leukemia and Cancer Foundations, an RSL "Girl in a Million" quest, bought food for Animal shelters and a Street Kids program. There have also been various other well deserving charities and community functions or individuals including supporting the raising of $20,000 by the Rotary Club.
We have travelled to Melbourne to assist the 'Anthony Robbins Foundation' and to the Gold Coast where we helped raise $5,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. If they call, we will seriously consider helping if we can regardless of where.
This Christmas we bought $1,500 worth of presents for the Salvation Army's Wish Tree; this is the second time in as many years.
