The first week was the warmest, with the month's high peaking at 75 on the 7th, while final two weeks were generally quite cold and blustery with frequent light snows and heavier snows in the mountains. From the 18th to the end of the month, all except 3 days failed to climb out of the 30s, with 3 days failing to reach above freezing, which is unusual for November. As per seemingly normal for the past several years, this month had above normal min temperatures (34.8 vs. 32.5). However, the mean max temperature of 47.7 F was the coolest since 1997, over 10 years, and is 5.5 degrees below the mean of 53.2 F. So, overall, temperatures were 1.6 degrees below normal (41.3 vs. 42.9). Many fronts brought in cold, blustery air off the Great Lakes, which resulted in the snow shower activity. Snowfall totaled 2.9 inches, 0.8" above the 61-year mean of 2.1 inches. Snow totals in the area varied significantly and were very elevation-dependant as they were in late October. Precipitation was below normal for the 3rd consecutive month, though not excessively so as in October when only 0.83 inches fell. Precipitation was relatively evenly spread throughout the month with no particularly high amounts on any given day. Fall precipitation totaled 6.12 inches, well below the normal of 9.72 inches, and ranks 10th driest out of 61 falls. Most of the signficant precipitation fell as rain, but sleet, freezing rain and snow were also seen on several occasions, nearly all during the second half of the month. The month ended on a damp and somewhat icy note.
