Cloudy with occasional showers during the day. Gusty north wind began this afternoon around 2:30pm. Snow showers late this evening around 11:30pm. 3: Strong wind overnight with light snow showers. Mostly sunny, breezy. 4: Mostly sunny, breezy, still cool. 5: Milder with high cloudiness during the day and light breezes. 6: Cloudy, calm. 7: Sunny with light NW breezes. 8: Predawn sprinkles, becoming partly cloudy and milder. Became partly cloudy and very warm with a high of 82 F and moderate breezes from the west. Brief shower around 6pm .02" fell. This is the one of the earliest 80-degree days on record. The earliest was March 8, 2000 (80 F). 14: Gusty winds with AM drizzle. Becoming partly cloudy and very windy with temperatures falling all day. 15: Early snow showers around 7am, not measurable. Partly sunny and continued very windy. 16: Clear becoming partly cloudy, breezy with winds from NW. 17: Early morning light rain & snow shower, not measurable. SUMMARY: The story of March 2006 was the lack of precipitation, both liquid and solid. Only 0.84" precip fell, which is the driest in 15 years of records. Only 0.2" snow fell, which is the second lowest total in 15 years. Only March 2000 had less snow (trace). Temperatures were slightly above normal, thanks to major warm-ups during the second and final weeks. There was no extreme cold. The 82 F on the 13th was unusually warm for so early in the season.
