| My Favorite Books. I am going to decicate this section to TRUE CRIME. If there are any kinds of books out there that I can read for hours, forgetting sleep and food...it is THAT. | ||||||
1) Philip Carlo - The Night Stalker (about Richard Ramirez) 2) Jim Schutze - Bully (about a highschool murder of a school bully) 3) Brian Valee - The Torso Murder: The Evelyn Dick story (about a female killer) 4) Maury Terry - The Ultimate Evil (Charles Manson and others) 5) Ann Rule's books - Kiss Me, Kill Me, Empty Promises 6) John Dean - The Indiana Torture Slaying (Sylvia Likens torture slaying by an old woman and her family of monsters) 7) Steve Hodel - The Black Dahlia Avenger (The Black Dahlia Murder) 8) Richard Lourie - Hunting the Devil (Andrei Chikatilo) 9) Kathy Braidhill - Chop Shop (about illegal multiple cremations and murders by Sconces family) If you are wondering about the photo in the background, that is the crime scene of Sharon Tate, one of the victims of the Charles Manson's 'gang'. Here is the list of my favorite true crime books. I have read a few more, but either don't remember names anymore, or they weren't my favorite ones. I am constantly on the look-out for more interesting, breath-taking, blood-boiling true crime stories. I couldn't quite tell you what it is that really inrerests me about true crime, probably because I am sick of Hollywood and made-up stories, and knowing that these stories are REAL makes it so much more memorable. I was once doing an ISU on Ann Rule's books and have contacted her. She was really nice to reply. I am grateful to her for her works, although they have awoken some feministic tendencies in me. |
