With 3 Cd's Under Their Belt Melodica is still Rocking Tall, and coming out with some awesome Melodic Rock that The Music Scene is currently lacking as far as I'm Concerned. According To Gerhard he doesn't have a very complicated Guitar Sound/Tone. He says Everything's Based In your head and Fingers anyway, At least that is what he's learned after playing Guitar for almost 20 years. On Melodica's last tour "The Def Leppard Please Help Us Tour" He just plugged into a Laney Head and the sound was Unbelievable, Great Dynamics and you could really hear the instrument since the pure sound wasn't processed at all. Ok, now to get a bit into Gerhard's Guitar sound. I asked him about one of my favourite Songs on the Melodica-Long Way From Home Cd and he gave me some info on it, but the sound for this song applies pretty much for the whole cd, so keep that in mind. The Sound on Come Runnin'  On the intro was 4 Tracks of Rhythm Guitars which were 2 DI tracks using a Sansamp GT2 (Tech 21,NYC). The other 2 Tracks were miked Tracks from a Vintage Orange
4 X 12 Cabinet Loaded with Celestion Speakers, Which are 30 Watts A Piece. It's the best Cabinet He's Ever Played, And he's so happy that he has it in his Collection. It has very Smooth, Sweet Sound without having the Cut Thru Mids around 5-7 KHz. The Amp he used on the Album was a Crate Full Tube Combo which he hooked up to the Cabinet. The Mic was a
Vintage Neumann M49 which he placed in the Center of the Speaker Inj order to get a more Aggressive, Brighter sound. The Guitar That he used on the cd is a Heavily Modified (By Him) 82 White Squier Strat, And was used on the Melodica-Love Metal cd also. And The Bridge Pickup is a Dimarzio PAF Pro Humbucker.

So Here's The List Of Gerhard's Gear for those Who Like The Stuff where it's easy to find.
