~Outside~
Justine ran out of the club crying. Turning around, she found Brittany, staring up at the stars on the cloudless night, sitting on the hood of Justin's car. Slowly walking up to her, she wasn't sure that it was the right thing to do, or if she could trust her completely.
"Justin, I don't want to hear your problems with Justine." Brittany continued looking up at the clear sky.
"Well, do you want to hear about my problems with Justin?" Brittany shot up at Justine's giggle.
"Justine!" Brittany exclaimed at the sight of her best friend. "Justine, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you about Justin and Britney before, it's just..."
"I know." Justine said as she sat on Justin's car next to Brittany.
"You do?"
"Yeah, I don't know much, but I know you were put in the middle, and I think I am ready to give our friendship another try."
"What if I don't want to?"
"What do you mean you don't want to, Britt? I thought we were the best of friends?" Justine's face dropped largely.
"Nah, I'm just kidding." Brittany shoved her as Justine hugged her friend.
"I'm kinda getting bored of picking on Kristin."
"Really? You want to pick on me? I feel so special!" Justine giggled excited.
"You scare me sometimes, Justine! But don't worry I love you for it."
~Inside~
"Hey, Joey?" JC tapped his friend's shoulder, who was wildly dancing with a blonde.
"What man, can't you see that I'm busy?"
"Yeah, whatever man."
"Have you seen Justine?" Justin cut in frantic.
"Nope not since you pissed her off." Joey smiled still dancing.
"I didn't do..."
"She was pretty mad, Justin." Kristin slurred her words.
"Thanks for pointing that out, Captain Obvious." Justin let his glare leave her figure.
"Captain? Like captain crunch?" Kristin talked to herself finding it amusing.
"Where's Brittany?"
"Britney is over there." Justin pointed, confused why JC would want to talk to her.
"No, not her you loser! Why would I want to talk to her?"
"Maybe because she is my girlfriend, and you would be a good best friend." Justin was getting angry from his exhaustion.
"J, I'm not going to get into this here with you. I am finding the girls and leaving." JC walked away with hopes of finding Brittany and Justine.
"Lance, I want to stay longer! This is sooooo fun!" Kristin hung on his arm.
"Hun, I think you are ready to come."
"No, Lance, I am staying." Kristin protested.
"Hey Lance, I can watch her." He spoke not even taking time to look Lance in the eyes.
"Joey, I'm not sure that I..." Lance started as Joey put his arm around his friend.
"Trust me, she will be fine. We will be home shortly anyways. It will be all good, I swear. Have I ever let you down?" He gave a cocky smile.
"Well actually, there was that time in San Francisco. Remember you were supposed to catch me in the dance move, but you were too busy watching the red head in the back? Or the time in..."
"Lance that was different!" He laughed nervously. "Now go! We will see you later." He pushed him to the exit.
"She better not come home with a scratch on her." Lance held up his finger.
"I know, thanks Dad!" Lance disappeared out the door. Immediately he heard the voices of Brittany, Justine and JC.
"It wasn't me, I swear!" Brittany held up her hands in defense.
"Hey blame me, he already hates me, and I hate him." Justine shrugged.
"Somebody's in trouble." Lance sing-songed and walked up to the car to observe the scratch on Justin's car.
"Shove it, Lance!" Brittany pushed him.
"You guys it's no big deal! I almost think it's funny." Justine giggled evilly. "Here look!" She took her sweater zipper and slowly made a scratch next to the microscopic one.
"Oh My GOD!" JC and Brittany both jumped away from Justine. "What are you thinking?" Lance grabbed her around the waist.
"It's not like he can't afford to fix it."
"Did you turn psycho while you were in LA or something?"
"No? Why do you ask Lance?" She looked at him as if she hadn't done anything wrong.
"Justine, his cares more about that car than anything! Britney was sick last month for a week, and I think he talked to her once during it. When his car was in the shop the next week, he called about it every morning and night. And you think that he won't care?" Brittany eyed her friend.
"Why don't we just leave?" JC grabbed Brittany's hand.
"Yeah, it will be safer." Brittany and JC walked away toward Lance's car. "Come on, Justine. You can come with us." They walked to the car, hoping Justin didn't come out and find out about the scratches.
"Brittany, where are you going tonight, home or to the Jive house with us?" Lance asked Brittany from the front seat. Brittany and Justin lived together at his house. Ever since her and JC broke up, she lived with him instead of JC. They figured that he would be the best for her to be with, seeing as she was a friend with Justine too. This way, she could see her all the time. Also it kept Britney away from his house more.
"Um...take me to the house with you guys. I have some things to do while you guys rehearse tomorrow, and then I will go home with J." Brittany leaned her head on JC's shoulder.
"Ok. How about you Justine? Are you going home?"
"Yeah, that's fine."
"No, bring her to the house. I need help with the clothes tomorrow. She can share my room." Brittany said through closed eyes.
"Brittany, you want me..Justine... your friend who can't match, to help you pick out clothes for a shoot? Are you feeling ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine, tired, but fine. But the photographer wants a messy look, so I figured you were good at that. And I volunteered you to help! Aren't you excited?" Brittany smiled sarcastically.
"Do I get to see the guys in boxer briefs?" Justine asked hopefully, eyeing JC and Lance up and down.
"NO!" They both pleaded at the same time."As much as I would love to let you, it's against the rules. Only I get the great opportunity to see them with hardly anything on." She leaned over to whisper to Justine. "Don't worry you aren't missing much!" She said it loud enough for the guys to hear.
"Hey! I resent that comment. That's not what you said when we went out." JC realized what he had said after the fact. "I mean um...nevermind." He turned to the window, embarrassed, as everyone burst into giggles.
Once they arrived at the Jive House, it wasn't shortly after that Chris and Justin walked in quietly.
"Hey guys, back so soon...I would have thought that Britney would've made you go to your house, Justin." JC spoke from the kitchen as Justin walked in next to him sitting on the stool.
"She wanted to, but I told her that I had practice tomorrow, and that I didn't want to do anything tonight. Well...not what she wanted to do." Justin got up and opened the refrigerator grabbing a Dr. Pepper.
"Oh! Then I can see why you didn't want her to be with you alone." JC smiled knowing Justin really wasn't too sure about his relationship with Britney after what had happened.
Both guys smiled at Joey and Kristin as they stumbled inside the door laughing at something they found funny. They walked back to the hallway passing Justin and JC without even noticing them.
"Ow! Joey, you stepped on my foot." Brittany screamed from her spot on the floor.
"I was going to ask why she was laying there. Why is she laying there JC?"
JC just shrugged at Justin's question. "I have no clue, but I bet she won't do it again." Brittany, who was now wide-awake, walked into the kitchen. "Guys, I can't sleep. I finally got comfortable on the floor, and the Fat-one had to come and step on me...You guys stop laughing." Both guys had wide smiles on their faces.
"We aren't laughing." Justin spoke.
"Yeah, see, no laughing noises." JC pointed to his mouth.
"You are too, you are laughing in the inside! Why did Justine have to take my bed? Now I can't sleep!" Brittany whined stomping her feet loudly, throwing a tantrum. Justin looked at her like he always did when she did this at home. "Justin?"
"No, Brittany, you aren't sleeping in my bed. One Britney in my bed was enough for me."
"But you let me at home. Why can't I here? It's not like I'm going to attack you. Then again, I don't know where your body has been. Well actually I do...forget it, I don't want to sleep in that bed anymore. Eww, gross thoughts!" Brittany clasped to the ground defeated.
"Come on, Brittany. You can sleep in my bed." JC grabbed her hand, pulling her up.
"Really?! See I knew that you were still my favorite, JC!" She glared at Justin.
"Hey! You live in my house just remember that." He laughed as they walked down the hallway.
"Did you hear that?" Brittany stopped dead in her tracks.
"Yeah, I thought that it was just me. Maybe Joey fell off of his bed again." JC walked up to Joey's door and opened it without knocking. "Holy Shit!"
"My virgin eyes!" Brittany yelled covering her eyes from the scene.
JC looked over at Brittany. "I don't believe that! I did go out with you remember?"
"Oh! Uh...My un-virgin eyes!" She still tried to cover her eyes from the picture of Kristin and Joey heavily making out.
"Jesus, Joey! What the hell are you doing?" JC asked him in a fatherly tone. Both him and Kristin kept at it. "Ok?" He shrugged when he didn't get an answer. Brittany stepped out of the way as he walked out past her and turned to her. "Jeez, Britt, I feel like we are the only ones not getting any action in this house. You want to...you know...for old times sake?" He smiled his cheesy grin to her.
"Not a chance!" Brittany continued to walk as he watched her turn into his room and jump on the bed. JC just smiled and walked into his bedroom also. "What are you doing?" Brittany asked watching JC take of his shirt.
JC turned throwing her a look. "What does it look like I'm doing? Maybe changing?" He said sarcastically.
"Duh! But...why are you wearing those shorts? Can't you wear the silk ones? Those are my favorites."
He smiled, rummaging through the drawer, pulling out the burgundy shorts.
"Yeah those!" Brittany smiled brightly pulling her knees, that were under the covers, to her chest.
"I wore these like 2 days ago though." He pulled them on.
"Yeah I know. I wanted to...I mean...I noticed."
"Is that why you sat next to me while we watched the movie?" He padded his way across the carpet. "Well?" He gestured to the bed.
"Well what, Romeo?" Brittany spread out in the bed getting comfortable.
"Well are you going to share the bed?"
"Nope."
"Nope?" A shocked expression came to his face. "What do you mean no?"
"Justine didn't have to share my bed now did she?" Brittany tried to act like she was falling asleep.
"Oh no you don't! Move over!" he shoved her over jumping under the covers next to her.
"JC!" Brittany screamed "Your feet are freezing! Get them off my leg!" She scooted as far as she could to the opposite side of the bed. JC smiled widely and started to laugh.
"Are you planning on sleeping way over there?" He fluffed his pillow and turned on the ceiling fan. When she didn't answer, he looked back over to her. He found her staring at him watching his every move. "Is it the shorts?"
"Hell yeah! Damn boy!" She scooted toward him.
"Oh, so it's not me?" JC laughed and brought Brittany close to him.
"Nope, it's definitely the shorts." Brittany smiled a sleepy smile and started to yawn. "Goodnight JC." She mumbled.
"Night, Sweetie."
"JC?"
"Yes?"
"OK, maybe it was a little of you too." Brittany smiled with her eyes closed as she inhaled his cologne. It was her favorite- Abercrombie Woods.
"Thanks, Britt." JC leaned over and kissed her forehead, and soon they were both asleep.
