SURPRISE !! Your Executive Committee is sending you a colorful January Newsletter to herald in a New Year of great activities for your club.
As I write these words, its a snowy, sleety, rainy, dark and dreary day; but when you read them, the winter solstice will be past the days will be getting longer and your plant catalogs and Hosta Finder will be open as you try to decide on plant selections for this year. Well, look no further this issue contains a Hosta Lovers selection of exciting plants. Thanks to Janet Vinyard and her plant acquisition committee, these plants will be available to you at our best ever Plant Sale in May. What better way to spend your gardening allowance and help the club at the same time.
AND THATS NOT ALL!!! (MARK YOU CALENDARS)
The WINTER DOLDRUMS PARTY is back. This time, we are teaming up with the Daylily and Iris Societys to enjoy a potluck get together on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at the Bethlehem Library from 2:00 to 4:00 PM., a great chance to meet new people and share gardening experiences. Additional information and Points of Contact are in this Newsletter.
The March 8, 2003 Hosta meeting will host Leo Blanchette speaking on Perennials with Good Foliage. See you at the Schenectady Library at 1:00 PM.
AND, what better way to see how all these plants come together than at the HVCC Garden Show, March 27 to 30, 2003. Yep, you can have four days to peruse this years' hot items. We need Hosta volunteers to man our portion of the booth. Call Linda Montanaro at (518) 377-4987 to sign up for your 2-hour block, or do it at the March meeting. Thanks ahead of time for your help.
Hopefully, this Newsletter finds you in the happy and healthy after glow of a memorable Holiday Season. |
