Empty Revolution: Chapter I, Part II;

Tapping the barrel of his gun against the metal bars, Dante chuckled, finding the devil hunter's glare amusing. Behind him, he could hear the faint murmurs of the conversation between Sunawachi and Makoto, though he chose to block it out, knowing already what they were most likely saying. No, it was much more fun to annoy the girl, or Rekka, as she called herself. Leaning forward then, he lifted his other hand and gripping one of the bars, smirked. "So tell me, what is it like, being locked up?"

Snarling at the man's actions, Rekka looked off and remained silent, intent on keeping at least some of her dignity intact. Deciding her best course of action was to simply ignore the fool, she let her attention focus then on the other two men in the room, wishing she could hear what they were saying. This attention, however, was broken just slightly when the sound of metal slamming into metal once again assaulted her and she glanced back, growling toward the man.

"I asked you a question, its rude not to answer your elders," he scolded, only finding her growls more amusing. Going to speak once more, he was cut off by a slight pressure on his shoulder and turning his head, blinked, staring into his wife's light blue eyes. Sighing, he nodded, already aware of what she was going to say. Putting the gun back in its holster, he lifted a hand and raking it through his black hair, nodded. "Right, ok, I know," he said, his expression almost reminiscent of a child who just had his favorite toy taken away.

Rolling her eyes, Sasuku chuckled and patted his head, happy that he was so obedient. "Good boy, now come on, lets go, Sunawachi and Makoto want to talk to us," she instructed, turning then as she headed back for the other two, knowing Dante would follow her. When the sound of heavy footsteps wafted toward her, she smirked, always glad when she was right. The smirk faltered then, as she squeaked, feeling an arm snake its way around her waist, a hand coming to rest on her hip. Blushing slightly, she leaned against him out of pure habit.

Watching the pair approach, Sunawachi sighed and turned to face them, feeling Makoto shift beside him. "Dante, how many times I have a told you? Do not provoke the prisoners," he said, his tone one of light scolding. Seeing the man's shoulders slump, he shook his head, shrugging then. "Ah well, no matter, if she ever decides to go on a killing spree I can at least rest assured it will be you she goes after first."

Blinking at the man's response, Makoto rolled his eyes, cursing the fool's lunacy before allowing his gaze to move back to the pair. "So you said she mentioned the Mezame?" He asked, cutting straight to the point, hating idle chatter. When Dante nodded, he frowned and turning away from the three, lifted a hand to tap his chin, the other tightening around his staff. "That doesn't make any sense though, the Mezame gave up demon hunting centuries ago, why would they suddenly start back up?"

"The Mezame aren't really behind this, if you mean them as a whole. I guess I should have been more clear in my explanation, but you'll have to forgive me, I was in pain. Then there was that whole poison thing," Rekka interjected, her tone bland. "And last time I checked, mage, the Mezame still hated demons. Just because they stopped hunting them at one point doesn't mean they couldn't begin once more."

Growling at the girl's words, Dante spun around and ignoring Sasuku's hand, made his way over to the cage. In a quick motion, he lifted his leg and slammed his foot into the bars, catching the girl by surprise, her slight scream echoing in the small room. "You had better watch your tongue, devil hunter, or I'll forget this whole thing and just rip it out my self."

Taking a moment to let the shock wear off, Rekka glared and standing, raised a hand, placing it against her chest. "I am not a devil hunter!" She cried, fully tired of this charade now. Ripping the golden bracelet off her wrist, she threw it at the man, watching as it bounced off his own chest. "I'm Mai Rekka, a demon, so stop calling me devil hunter' and use my name! I told it to you earlier for a reason, you know." Breathing just a little heavily then, she went silent, feeling a little better that she had gotten that out.

Quirking an eyebrow at the girl's outburst, his eyes moving to rest on the golden object now resting on the floor beside Dante. Crossing the room then, Sunawachi knelt and quickly picked the item up, shifting it in his hand as he studied it, watching it glint in the light. Almost instantly he felt a presence beside him and glancing over, spotted Makoto, chuckling at how curious the boy looked. Offering him the bracelet, he moved away then, heading for the cell. "Then why did you introduce yourself as Yamashita Rekka?" He questioned, already forming a theory in his head.

"Actually, the more important question is, why did you spout off that random as hell speech if you're not really a devil hunter? I thought they were the only ones to give such long and boring things?" Dante asked then only to yelp when a hand slammed into the back of his head. Immediately moving to rub the spot, he looked over, staring at Sasuku in shock. "What was that for?" He yelled, wondering why she seemed so keen on hitting him today and in the same spot no less.

Silently thanking the woman for shutting him up, she sighed and crossed her arms, ignoring the slight twinge of pain that shot up her side in response. "Firstly, I used the name because the females of the Yamashita clan are well-known devil hunters, so I figured it would be best to use them. Secondly," she added then, glancing toward Dante, "anyone could give a speech like that, all you have to do is string pretty words together and voila, you've made one. Really, I'm sure even you could do it."

"The only problem with that is they were vampire's, the Yamashita clan. You, however, a demon," Sasuku pointed out then, before frowning, a thought dawning on her. "You masked your psychic scent, or hid it?" It was the only way she could work out the fact that before, she had gotten nothing off her compared to now, where she could clearly tell the girl's race. When a nod greeted her question, she smirked, thinking it a clever trick. It was not easy for someone to hide or even mask the psychic scent, unlike the physical, which simply alerted others to their presence.

Lifting a hand then, Sunawachi cleared his throat and waiting until he had everyone's full attention, spoke. "As fascinating as all of that is, I must point out that we have not had our original question answered," he stated before blinking, rubbing his chin. "Though I suppose it should be asked in a different fashion, given the information we just received. If not the Mezame as a whole, then who sent you?" He inquired, deciding that if the girl was willing enough to answer their earlier questions, surely she would have no problem divulging who had sent her.

"Yawarakai Amaya, a young Galza and her partner, Haishin Shumei, a Tokiiro," she responded, throwing out the ranks of both, just for a little added flair. "For whatever reason, they want the Queen dead and I was sent to relay that message, nothing more. I have nothing to do with their mission as a whole and personally, I have no problem with the young Queen, but they have something very dear to me."

Nodding at this new information, Sunawachi turned to Makoto, smiling brightly. "I suppose this demands some research, wouldn't you agree oh protg of mine?" Then, without giving the other boy time to respond, he grabbed his arm, his other hand pointing toward the door. "To the library then!" Turning, he headed for the exit, dragging Makoto after him, ignoring the boy's protests.

Stepping away from the cell then, Dante sighed and scratched at a spot behind his ear, blinking. "Well, with that I guess its time to go pay Sorina and Ichidou a visit, hmm?" He questioned, his gaze moving back to his wife, laughing when she groaned. "I know, I'm not looking forward to interrupting them either, I like living just as much as you do, but it has to be done."

Knowing he was right, she sighed and nodded, guessing the quicker they got it done the quicker they could get away. "All right, I guess the longer we wait the worse it will be, so lets go then." Grabbing his arm, she gave Rekka one last glance, briefly deciding they could let her out when they returned, as technically she had done nothing wrong. Making a mental note to bring that up later, she vanished, taking Dante with her.

Staring around the now empty room, Rekka sighed and moved to lean against the bars of her cell, eyes closing. Feeling her skin prickle, she frowned and without even looking, spoke. "Good evening, Amaya, I do hope you're doing well?" She asked, sarcasm lacing her words. When a sharp pain rewarded her words, she gasped and gripped her arm, grimacing. Spinning around then to look at the woman, glaring.

Smirking in return, the glare only making it widen, she chuckled. "You would do well to hold that temper of yours, demon, unless you no longer value a certain someone," she said, enjoying the look of fear that flashed through the girl's eyes. "Good, I see that is not the case, I'd hate to lose my bargaining chip after all."

Biting back the growl that threatened to escape, she swallowed and allowing her hand to fall, licked her lips. "I relayed your message, just as you asked, so let Quyen go," she demanded, her voice low. A light scoff was her only response, causing Rekka to glare. "You said once I gave them your message that you would let Quyen go, you can't go back on your word now!"

"You'll find, demon, that I can do a lot of things," Amaya hissed, her eyes narrowing as she moved forward. Wrenching the girl toward her then, she smirked, liking the whimper her action brought on. "Now lets go, I'm not quite done with you yet. So be a good girl while Shumei tends to your wounds and maybe I'll let you see that Quyen of yours," she promised, chuckling at how the girl immediately froze. Once again thankful that her weakness was so obvious, she turned, vanishing then.

Letting out a long sigh, a hand moving to hold her arm, Rekka frowned and giving the room one last look, closed her eyes, following after Amaya.
