"Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by every generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it , have never known it again."
                                                              - Ronald Reagan
Richard Farnsworth

A man with a western heart
My favorite Farnsworth character was Dodger from "Comes a Horseman".
In this role he perfectly portrayed the heart and soul of the western cattleman and rancher. One cannot help but love this capable, wise and gentle character.

When confronted with the certainty of his imminent death, Dodger chose to meet his end with dignity and pride - the same way he had lived his life. After living with terminal cancer,  Mr. Farnsworth chose his ending at his ranch in Lincoln, New Mexico.

Richard Farnsworth's carreer spanned six decades. He was a Hollywood stuntman and actor who appeared in nearly 100 films. He is an inductee into  the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
